First Time Tournament Players
We are happy to welcome all our first time tournament players! We are so excited that you have chosen our event as your debut into the disc golf tournament world. Below you will find some info you'll need to know for your first event and what to expect. We deeply encourage all our veteran tournament players to be ambassadors of the game, while helping and supporting your cardmates during their first tournament experience.
Our tournament is a PDGA sanctioned event, meaning we will be following PDGA standards and rules. Here is a helpful link to reference for all first time tournament players and anyone needing a refresh:
https://udisc.com/blog/post/disc-golf-tournaments-a-beginners-guide
We're doing a "shotgun start," meaning everyone will tee off at the same time from different holes. You'll find your starting hole on the PDGA Event Page, as well as in the PDGA scoring app, and we'll also have that info at check-in. After the players' meeting, you'll head to your assigned hole. There will be a call for a 2-minute warning, and once it's time, there will be a second call for start of play.
Check-in
All players must check in at Tournament Central in Marx Meadow by 8am. All players will receive a player’s pack.
Scoring
All players must keep score. We will be using PDGA Digital Scorecard for live scoring. The access code will be MMM. Paper scorecards will be available for any who would like to use them. All scorecards must be submitted after each round. Parents or caddies can score for their accompanied players. Please ensure your phones are charged! Download the PDGA score keeping app here:

Juniors
Players ages 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult during all tournament rounds. One adult may supervise multiple juniors in the same group, provided all parent/guardian agreements are made before play begins. It is highly recommended that all parents/guardians review the Youth Safety section of the PDGA Competition Manual:

Layout
The layout will be a (mostly) straightforward Golden Gate Park course layout. Certain divisions (FA3, FJ15, FJ12, MJ12, MJ10, MJ08, and MJ06 will play from a short tee on some of the holes (indicated below with an asterisk). All GGP course signs can be found here:

Apart from the meadow island hole, this layout is now available to practice.
Pace of Play:
As this is a one-day tournament with two rounds in limited daylight, we kindly ask that all cards do their best to keep pace with the group in front of them to ensure we finish both rounds in daylight.
True Amateur
The Marx Meadow Miracle is a True Amateur event, which means all Amateur players will receive a player’s pack worth at least 110% of their entry fee, and play for trophies only. Professional players will compete for trophies and cash.
Post-Tournament Activities:
After the rounds, we will hold a trophy ceremony and a free raffle at the course. We also invite everyone to join us for a players' party at the Chug Pub, where all are welcome, including juniors!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. We can't wait to see everyone on the course!
Best regards,
Andy, Chloe, and Marisa
