About this tournament
2 rounds of play
This is why we are calling it the Lost Valley Open:
250 families were forced to surrender their homes in the 1960s to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under the right of eminent domain. The state bought 5,286 acres of what was known at the Tohickon Valley and surrounding Bucks County areas to build the 1,450-acre Lake Nockamixon and the surrounding Nockamixon State Park.
Most people think this is a natural lake and don't realize hundreds of families lost their homes to build it.
The lake was made by damming three water sources in the Valley — the Tohickon Creek, Three Mile Run and Haycock Run. It was part of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plan for the Delaware River Basin to create a watershed and recreation area close to Philadelphia.
The Lake is what seperates our 2 host courses for the tournament. If the valley was still there, It would only take a couple minutes to get from one to the other, but for now, we have to drive around the lake.
