The Athens Disc Golf Club is happy to be hosting our FIRST ever Ice Bowl event!!! This year we will be supporting the Athens Area Habitat for Humanity. This event is designed for disc golfers to give back to the community we live in while reflecting a positive image of disc golf back to that community.
This event is part of the Competition Endowment Program sponsored by the PDGA. Meaning all entry fees beyond the cost to run the event will be donated to our charity in leu of a typical payout. The PDGA donates the $2 per player fee as well as waives the $10 non-PDGA member fee.
By playing this event you will get a rated round, lunch after round, and your entry into the park. The first 75 to sign up will be guaranteed a DX Roc with the 2020 Ice Bowl Hot Stamp.
This event is 1 round that will consist of playing all 27 holes in a single round. It will be a long FUN round. We will provide a “late” lunch for you after the round. You may want to pack a snack for mid-round, as we expect the round to possibly take up to 4 hours to complete. We will play the course in a specific order so that we cover ground efficiently. Sandy Creek has 2 courses, a 9-hole course (with 5 new holes) and an 18-hole course that do not play/flow sequentially. The score card will indicate the order we will play each hole, and we will have special Ice Bowl Next Tee Signs to guide you through both courses at the same time. This is the best way to play all 27 at once.

We will provide opportunities beyond playing in the event for you to help us meet our fund-raising goal of $1,000. There will be a $2 ace fund, that if no one hits will go to the charity (of course we want someone to hit it though!). We will have raffle tickets available for purchase day of, for the chance to win donated prizes, so bring plenty of extra cash for that if you are interested. If you happen to be in a position of being able to donate some items to raffle off let me know. We are also offering you the ability to purchase and choose from a variety of awesome “Ice Bowl” Premium Hot Stamped Discs from multiple manufactures. These discs are only available online at registration through January 1st, 2020 at 5pm. This is to meet the ordering deadlines.
