About this tournament
Welcome to the 28th River City Cup.
Edmonton Disc Golf Association is proudly hosting this, the longest continuous running event in Alberta’s disc golf history!
We acknowledge Treaty 6 territory—the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Regions 2, 3 and 4 within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland.
AMATEURS: The amateur portion of this tournament will be a "true amateur event", as defined by the PDGA. Trophies will be awarded to top finishers in each division, and all amateur players will receive player packs equal in value to 100%+ of their net registration fee! Players will not receive merchandise payouts. https://www.pdga.com/td/true-amateur.
This event is an NADGT Canada Affiliate event which means that all amateur players will receive an invitation to the NADGT Canada: National Championships taking place near Calgary on Aug 23-24. Also, top performers in each amateur division will receive invitations to the NADGT National Championships taking place in Austin, TX from Oct 29 - Nov 1.
PROS: Pro cash payments will be sent following the tournament by PayPal.
PASS-THROUGH FEES: $5 Amenities Fee, $4 PDGA Fee, GST on registrations
CHECK IN: Player check in and player packs will be available on Friday June 27th, 2024 from 12:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Trail House in Rundle Park.
Please ensure you can attend the event prior to signing up. Read all the details.
DIVISIONS/PLAYER POOLS:
Divisions must be a minimum of 3 players in order to be active, if not you will be asked to move to another division or get a refund.
**These pools and course assignments are subject to change.
POOL A: MPO, MP40, MA1, MA40
POOL B: FPO, FA40, MA50, MA2, MA4, FA4, MJ15
Pool A will play RUNDLE LONG and HERMITAGE BLUE layouts
Pool B will play RUNDLE SHORT and HERMITAGE RED layouts
REGISTRATION:
Women/Juniors - Opens March 31st
Hole Sponsors - Opens April 9th (30 spots)
EDGA Members Opens April 12th (20 spots)
All divisions - Opens April 26th
HOLE SPONSORS: $50 hole sponsors will receive signage of their name or represented brand at a hole on the one of the two courses, as well as social media recognition and caddy book recognition.

PLAYERS MEETING: There will be no players meetings. All information will be sent to players via email prior to the tournament. Please ensure you are at your starting hole, at the correct course, at least 2 minutes prior to the shotgun start. (CADDY BOOK SENT JUNE 25TH)
ACE POT: There will be an Ace pot for Pros and an Ace pot for Ams. In the event that the pot is not won, a draw will be held for half of the pot and the other half will be donated to EDGA to help build more courses. The winner will be contacted and sent the funds via Paypal or e-transfer.

COURSES: This year we will be back to our two course tournament structure, utilizing Hermitage Park and Rundle Park.
Both courses will be equipped with practice baskets and warm up areas.
Both courses will be set up fully for practice as of Thursday June 26th, 2024.

Refund policy
Edmonton Disc Golf Association is responsible for all refunds/cancellations.
*In order to properly prepare for the event, As per PDGA full refund will be given up to 30 days prior to the event, 50% refund up to 2 weeks prior to the event, 25% refund up to 1 week prior to the event, if a refund is requested 7 days or less prior to the start of the tournament, Pros will not get a refund and their fee will be added to the Pro payouts, Amateurs will receive their full amateur player pack instead of a refund.
