Thanks to the 29 who muscled their way through 18 tough and windy holes for the first round of Punderstruck today. Scores are updated on the PDGA site. Tomorrow the cards will be aligned with the top 4 in each division playing on the same card and a few threesomes and another foursome mixed in. The format will be Blues to Shorts for all players. Tomorrow the cards will be aligned with the top 4 in each division playing on the same card and a few threesomes and another foursome mixed in. The format will be Blues to Shorts for all players. This includes Hole 3 playing from the Blue Tee with no Platform Tee in play. Long pins on 2 (Island), 9, 12, and 15 will not be in play and the layout par is 65.

Please note that all players need to check in between 8:30 and 9, with a short player's meeting to follow. The goal is to begin the round by 9:30 if possible. After the 2nd round is completed, there will be an Awards ceremony with Pro players to be paid out by PayPal and Ams with the standard disc / merch payouts. A separate post will follow this one with the payouts for each division.

Round 1 CTPs will be given out tomorrow before the 2nd round begins at check-in. There will be two more CTPs for disc prizes for the AMs. I'm going to change it up and make those holes 11 and 17. There will be a "refresh" to the $$$ CTPs with another $3 buy-in and similar split pot between the 3 holes. The CTPs on this will be 4, 13 and 14.

Also, PLEASE DON'T PARK ON ANY GRASS!!!!

The course asks that after the lot is full we park up along the gavel drive and then the maintenance road on the left. With the field size, this should not be a major issue. BUT DON"T PARK ON THE GRASS!!!! Thank you.

Special Rules:

Hole 2 Island Rule: There will be a Spotter to indicate if shots are safe and can advance. We will also be allowing shots that make contact with the Island but end out of bounds to advance to the point where the disc moved OB after making contact with the Island. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE FLYING OVER THE IN BOUNDS AREA ON THE ISLAND…CONTACT MUST BE MADE WITH EITHER THE GROUND, THE BASKET, OR A TREE THAT IS IN BOUNDS TO ADVANCE. THE PLAYER WILL STILL BE ASSESSED A 1 STROKE PENATLY FOR BEING OB BUT WILL ADVANCE TO PUTT.

There are wooden planks on the front and right side that mark the OB line. The planks are considered OB and a portion of the disc must be past the inside edge of the plank to be in bounds. The back side and left side areas have yellow ropes that mark the OB line. The bridge is considered OB. If a shot does not allow advancement AND if the attempt to throw to the Island occurs past the Hole 2 Red Tee area and lands OB, the player has the option to move to the concrete tee near the bridge for their next throw. There will be a spray-painted line that indicates the area that allows a player to advance to the concrete tee on their next attempt (if desired) when going OB. When throwing to the Island once past the spray-painted line, the player will have 2 attempts to make the Island. This includes any shots taken from the concrete tee (if the player desires to throw from there). After the 2nd attempt, they will proceed to the Drop Zone that is the Platform (Gold #3 Tee). If a player is outside this spray-painted area, ALL throws will have a standard OB rule in which you throw from the last point of in bounds with a one stroke penalty with NO LIMIT or advancement to the Drop Zone. This includes the Red Tee area.

Hole 3 Gold Tee (Platform) Rule: Discs must come to rest in bounds off of the drive to be considered in bounds. If a disc does not land safely in bounds or makes contact with an object and goes OB when throwing from the Platform, the player will take their next shot from the White 3 Tee Pad with a one stroke penalty. The player also has the option to re-tee with penalty if preferred. THERE WILL BE NO SPOTTER ON THIS HOLE!

These OBs and Special Rules will be in effect both rounds.

Please note, that these OBS and Rules are subject to change based on course conditions and weather. Any changes will be communicated during the pre-round Player's Meetings to ensure all players are aware.

We are less than a week away!!! Right now the forecast looks dry for the weekend until early evening Sunday. We have gotten A LOT of rain over the past couple days with more to come tomorrow and Wednesday. I'll be out at the course on Wednesday and Friday to assess the conditions for the event. If course conditions dictate, the Island and/or the Platform may be deemed unsafe and unplayable. More to come on that after this unstable weather pattern passes by.

We have gotten A LOT of rain over the past couple days with more to come tomorrow and Wednesday. I'll be out at the course on Wednesday and Friday to assess the conditions for the event. If course conditions dictate, the Island and/or the Platform may be deemed unsafe and unplayable. More to come on that after this unstable weather pattern passes by.

The plan will be to send groups out as 3-somes if possible on Saturday. This will speed up the round and help get the day finished quicker. For Sunday's round, lead cards in each division will be play as 4-somes and the rest of the players will be filtered down accordingly.

I also noticed that I did not have MA40 listed as playing the Platform Tee (Gold #3) for the Long Basket Round on Saturday. My preference is to have all players play the same tees. So if we get a group consensus, all fields will play this tee. If some divisions choose not to, and others do, that is also not an issue. But the decision will need to be made before players head to the out to the course for their Saturday rounds so that the PDGA live scoring can be accurate.

Event OBs and Special Rules will be posted tomorrow. I do have a Spotter for the round on Saturday for the Island. This will help keep the pace moving and groups will start on the course to ensure that hole is played earlier in the round.

There will be a quick player's meeting to discuss OBs and Special Rules and some of the event side games (CTPs). Groups will be arranged on holes to ensure we get our spotter for the Island done ASAP. This means groups will start on 1 and 2, then the back of the course. I did a course walk today and I'm happy to say that despite all the rain and wind over the past 4 days, the course is still in great shape. Yes, it's wet in spots. But mud and standing water are at a minimum and most of that should dry up between now and the event since there is no rain in the forecast.

All ropes around Pine Lake, including on the Island, were not under water and will be playable per the normal OB rules stated below. I did notice 1 area on hole 11 that needs so ... more

But mud and standing water are at a minimum and most of that should dry up between now and the event since there is no rain in the forecast.

All ropes around Pine Lake, including on the Island, were not under water and will be playable per the normal OB rules stated below. I did notice 1 area on hole 11 that needs some minor rope repair. But I should be able to get that taken care of Friday.

The forecast looks great for Saturday with temps in the mid to high 60's. Sunday is the same, with rain moving in later in the day after the event should be completed.

Please note that the Round format has been updated so that Blues to Longs is Played on Saturday and the Blues to Shorts round is played on Sunday.
