About this tournament

The Taupō Thermal Throwdown is returning this Labour Weekend (21st & 22nd of October) and will be running as a PDGA sanctioned C-Tier, True Amatuer event!
Registration will be via Disc Golf Scene and will be opening August 1st for Taupō Disc Golf members and event volunteers, then August 3rd for everyone else. Field is capped at 90 players and divisions capped at 30 players (players may be requested to move up or down to help manage the field).
True Amateur events provide 100% of net entry fees back in value to all participants through player packs, trophies and tournament amenities, so we have an awesome player pack, lunch included on Saturday and trophies or medals up for grabs for the top three in each division. Pro players with a ranking under 970 are welcome to play in a division based on the PDGA guidelines. See: Division Ratings and Points Factors for guidelines on which division you should play if you have a PDGA ranking.
There will be 60 holes played over two days at the iconic Spa Park course, with MA1 playing off the black tees, FA1, MA2, MA40 off the red tees, and all others off the blue tees. Divisions require a minimum of four players to run and will be consolidated if required.
Entry will include a fantastic players pack put together with help from Uncle Dunkles Hot sauce and RPM discs. Lunch will be provided on Saturday between rounds.
The awesome team at Disc Shop Disc Golf are putting a great prize on the line for the first person (if any) to hit an Ace on hole 19. If you miss, better hope you land close as there will also be CTP prizes.
The Saturday evening social event entry is $30 (can be purchased when you register) which includes a burger, fries and drink combo. This will kick off from 6.30pm at The Landing, where we will set up 9 putting stations in their brand new Ninja Assault course!

Taupo Disc Golf is responsible for all refunds/cancellations.
REFUND POLICY
100% refund (excluding transaction and DG Scene fees) will be issued for anyone pulling out before 8pm on Friday 6th of October 2023.
50% refund (excluding transaction and DG Scene fees) will be issued for anyone pulling out before 8pm on Friday the 13th October
Any withdrawals after 8:01pm Wednesday 18th October will not be eligible for any refund.
Players may transfer their entry to another person if there is no one on the waitlist.
Waitlist players which do not gain entry to the event will receive their full refund, less dgscene and paypal fees.
