TOURNAMENT CANCELLED

The island remains flooded as Lake Ontario hits its highest water levels in recent history beating out the 1952 record for high water. It is predicted that we are finally close to the peak of the rise and the water should begin to slowly recede but it all forecasts predict that it will take until late July/early August until the water is down to a level that the park will be usable again.
Without the Island Course we unfortunately will have to cancel the event. I am sorry it has come to this but many plans are being ruined by Lake Ontario this year and we will just have to hope that the damage is minimal. I will be issuing refunds throughout the next day or two. Please let me know if you have any issues receiving them.

Hi Scott I know that there is a lot of uncertainty about this tourney but unfortunately i have something else that has come up that I need to attend thus please take me off the list and refund my money please and thank you. I hope that the course will be ready in time for this to go if not look forward to playing next year.

Hello all TIO competitors,

As I'm sure many of you already know, water levels of Lake Ontario are setting record highs this year. As a result the island course is currently unplayable with most of the course still underwater.

A few news sources have stated that the island will still not be open for recreational use until late June/early July. Water levels are expected to start receding in June, but any heavy rainfall during the month prior to the tournament could push the opening date of the island course past the proposed date of the TIO (July 8th).

Obviously cancelling the tournament will be a last resort. However, if the course is still not playable by the time July rolls around we will have no choice but to cancel and issue refunds to all registered players.

Not knowing whether or not we will be able to host the tournament has caused some changes in our preparation. We will not be able to meet the deadline for purchasing players' packs before knowing if the event will be moving forward, unfortunately we have decided not to provide players packs as a result. The funds set aside for players' packs will be put into payouts if the event goes ahead as planned.

Lunch will still be provided.

We will update you with the potential of cancellation as we receive more information about water levels and Toronto Island Course conditions.

Let's all cross our fingers for a dry June!
