Sumter Civil War: Dillon Vs. Live Oak

Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Dillon Park in Sumter, South Carolina
Disc golf teams tournament

About this tournament

The Sumter Civil War rages on. The South was dealt a crushing blow last year from the North team but will rise again.
This will be a Team Event played with Doubles Partners for both Live Oak and Dillon Park. The finals will be the entire group playing together. It is a super fun event.

The final round goes like this: Everyone's name will go into a hat. Each team will have 2 names pulled out of the hat for each throw, captain's choice. If someone has a short tap in (15 feet or less) they can choose to throw first on the next hole. Play continues through the first 7 holes. Scores are added to the points.

We will also be using the Mulligan home flags again this year with some different rules.

You may choose your partner or be paired up with someone if you don't have one. You can also switch partners for the next round if you want.

There will be CTP's for both rounds.

All FA2 (Intermediate Women) and below will have the option of throwing on any white tee for both courses and the finals.

Team Captains:
North- Jonathan Thomas
South- Kelly Melton

This event is open to anyone not just locals!

Proceeds go to Live Oak to finish up our basket replacement goal. We have replaced 9 of the old Salient Baskets with Innova Discatchers and are working towards replacing the other 9 and adding a practice basket. With everyone's help from last year, we were able to install turf tee pads on ALL blue tees!!!!!

6. Hole 9 tee to hole 18 basket Par 4
7. Hole 20 tee to hole 20 basket Par 3
8. CTP hole from just across the road from #20 to the practice basket. This is for all players who haven't been drawn from the hat yet. Each captain gets to throw from here using a disc supplied by the other team.

Each Captain has a REINFORCEMENT CARD for the finals. They can announce a ringer to throw for that hole whether that person has been chosen already or not. That ringer's name stays in the hat if their name hasn't been drawn randomly yet and can be chosen at random later. The captain has to announce the reinforcement before names are drawn for that specific shot. Another name is still drawn from the hat for a captain's choice.

Points for the final round go like this for each hole:

Eagle/Ace: 35 points
Birdie: 15 points
Par: 8 Points
Bogey: 1 point
Double and higher: 0 points

Finals total points are doubled. I.E. 80 points total for final x2= 160 points for the final round for that team.

CTP points:
1st 10.
2nd 8
3rd 5
4th 3
5th 2
6th and below: 1

Any players not chosen during the team Finals will throw a CTP to the practice basket for final points.
