Check-in for the tournament begins. You may check in at any time after 2:45 p.m. and play your round so long as you are finished by 8:00 p.m.
3:00pm - 8:00pm
One 24-hole round of singles play. All rounds must be completed by 8 p.m. You may form your own groups or you will be assigned to one.
5:00pm - 9:00pm
Celebration begins. Food trucks. Goshen Brewing Company Beer Tent. Disc golf Shakedown Street Fly Mart. Putting games.
6:00pm - 9:00pm
Free concert. The Erly will play a three-hour set of Grateful Dead covers.

About this tournament
ELKHART COUNTY'S BIGGEST DISC GOLF WEEKEND
Celebrating 35 years of the Ox Bow Flying Disc Sanctuary
August 16-18, 2024 | Goshen, Indiana
This is the culmination of an 18-month fundraising and renovation project for the disc golf course with three distinct tournaments over three days. Friday is the big celebration with food and drinks, a fly mart and free concert open to the public.
All three PDGA sanctioned tournaments will feature the new course layouts.
Friday: Summer Sizzler - One round PDGA C-Tier flex-start singles event
Saturday: The Classic at Ox Bow - Two round PDGA Pro C/Am B-Tier singles event
Sunday: Dog Days Doubles - One round PDGA C-Tier doubles event

ABOUT
The Summer Sizzler is the opening event of Elkhart County's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend. This is a PDGA true amateur event.
FRIDAY SCHEDULE
2 p.m. Ribbon cutting and presentation of the course to the public
3 p.m. Official rounds may begin. You may begin your round at any time after check-in opens and you have a group of at least three or four players. A group may not have more than five players.
5 p.m. Food trucks, GBCo beer tent, and Shakedown Street disc golf fly mart open
6 p.m. Free concert featuring The Erly performing a three-hour Grateful Dead cover set
8 p.m. All flex rounds must be complete
9 p.m. Festivities conclude
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
No cashless registration. All players must pre-register before 8 p.m EDT on the day before the event, August 15, 2024.
PLAYER PACKAGES
All amateur players will receive a commemorative custom stamped disc in their player package at check-in.
PASS THROUGH FEES
Two dollars per player are taken from the gross entry fee in accordance with the mandatory PDGA player fee for a sanctioned C-Tier event.
DIVISIONS
The tournament director reserves the right to combine divisions of less than three players. The TD will also open a requested division with a minimum of three players.
RATINGS
You may play "up" but you may not play "down" a division. Player rating classifications will be strictly enforced. You will be moved to the appropriate division should your November rating affect your division registration at the time. Please contact the TD with any questions.
LAYOUTS
Long tees - MPO, MP40, MA1, MA40, MA2
Short tees - All other divisions
SIDE GAMES
Optional Ace Fund and 50/50 Cash CTP. There will be no "throw-off" if there is no hole-in-one during the tournament. The fund will be donated. Winner of the 50/50 CTP will be contacted and receive their winnings via PayPal or cash, whichever is more practical.
SCORING
All players must keep score. Digital is preferred. We will be using PDGA live scoring for this event.

Maple City Disc Golfers is responsible for all refunds/cancellations.
Players who officially request to withdraw prior to July 18, 2024 will receive a 100% cash refund minus a $5 handling fee.
Players who officially request to withdraw between July 18 and August 8, 2024 will receive a 100% cash refund minus a $5 handling fee ONLY if their spot can be filled from the waitlist. If the player's spot is NOT filled through the waitlist the player will receive a 50% cash refund.
Players who officially request to withdraw from the event between August 9 and August 15 at 8 p.m. EDT will receive a 100% cash refund minus a $5 fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through the waitlist. If the player's spot is NOT filled, we will provide a 25% cash refund.
