Lunch:
Bring your own! If you forget or would like to venture out there is a COOP grocery store about two minutes down the road that serves cold and hot lunches as well as anything else you might need (heady beer). Storrs Pond can be very tiring, so we will take a long lunch break (at least 60 full minutes from time last card turned in) so that you can relax, eat lunch, and take a swim in the pond to cool down and refresh!!
Schedule:
Friday Night:
6:00 - Players Party/Potluck/BBQ
7:30 until sunrise – Open play on Glow Course
Saturday:
Check-In: 7:45-8:45
Players Meeting: 9:00
Shotgun Start: 9:30
Lunch: 60-70 minutes starting from when last card of round 1 turned in
Awards: After Round 2!
Glow Round (Hi-lo dubz): When it is dark enough! Scheduled Sunset is 7:13, so probably 7:30-7:45 start.
Camping:
Why should you camp at Storrs Pond for the Classic? Here are three reasons why:
1) Storrs Pond is very family and dog friendly. So bring the entire crew for the weekend. There is a 13.5 acre pond to canoe, kayak, or fish. There are bike and walking trails. There are two awesome swimming beaches!
2) The kind folks at the Hanover Improvement Society have reduced the price of campsites from $32 or 40 per night to $15 per night! That is super cheap!
#) Camping is super phun!!!
So if you want to camp reserve your site early by calling Storrs at 603-643-2134
Here is a link to the site map: http://www.storrspond.org/about/area-map/
Hint - camp sites 1-16 are on the side where all the action will be and also have RV hook up’s.
Friday Night Players Party:
For those arriving the night before, we’ll be hosting a casual get together at the pavilion around 6pm. Bring a dish to share or something for the grills and come get to know your competitors! Once its dark, we’ll be opening up the glow course for everyone to test out. If you’re going to be playing glow golf, the potluck is the best time to buy LEDs on Friday.
Glow Golf:
We are setting up a temporary 9-hole glow course for the weekend. Baskets will be lit up with LED rope, but you will need either glow plastic or LED lights taped to your disc. If you don’t have your own, we will have lights available for purchase online or day of ($1 apiece, 2-3 recommended) and tape to affix them. The Saturday night organized glow round will be hi-lo dubz based on the day’s tournament scores. The winning team will be awarded Chris Sherwin Art Glass mini trophies!
