The $10 fee is per person, each person registers separately.
This is a fun event for all ages and ability levels. Even if you have never played disc golf this is an excellent introduction to the sport! Sign up with a partner or I can help match you with someone fun. This is a GLOW event so the modified round of 13 holes will be played in the dark! The doubles format is "best shot": Both team members will throw off the teepad to begin each hole. Your team will then choose which of the two discs to play from is your "best shot" for the next throw. The team's selection furthest from the basket throws first. Both team members will throw from the best shot chosen. Only one successful putt in the basket is required from each team to end the hole. Whichever team began the first hole, the next team will begin the next hole and alternate throughout the course. Record your scores at the next tee (not at the basket) so as not to hold up play. If a disc is lost, set a 3-minute timer to look for the disc. If the disc is not found, contact the TD (905-328-8515) and throw from the other partner's lie. After completion of the 9th hole, please "hustle" down to hole 16 following the gravel path.
There is no player's pack for this event. You may use any discs to play. Discs will require stickers, lights or be made of glow plastic for visibility and a minimum of one UV flashlight per group of 4 is needed. Adding reflective paint, strips, glow sticks or glow make up to your costumes are encouraged. Starter discs with glow stickers will be available to borrow from the St. Catharines Women's Disc Golf Club at the event.
All teams will receive one BINGO card with 25 spaces. The content of the spaces are the same, but will be uniquely placed on the grid so that each card is different. As you work through the modified course, your team will cross off items on your card. Each item you cross off on your BINGO card must be verified by the other team on your card and will be exchanged as draw tickets when you complete the round.
This event will have a variety of prizes both disc golf related and non-disc golf related to win. Prizes will be gift cards for common places (Starbucks, Walmart, gas stations etc), disc golf related items (towels, lights, discs etc) and cash! Each prize will have a container where you and your partner can choose how many of your tickets you would like to put in for items you'd like to win. If you cross off 9 items on your BINGO card during play, you and your partner will get 9 tickets. You can put all of your tickets in one container to try and win that specific item or spread them among all prizes to choose from. If you can make a line of 5 items in any direction on your BINGO card, it doubles your tickets from 5 to 10 for that line (multiple lines are possible). Additional tickets will be awarded for special costumes, creative team names and other fun challenges voted on by the participants.
After all teams have completed the 13 holes, draws will occur for each of the prizes. Winners must be present to claim their prizes or arrange for shipment at their cost.
Since there are no park or PDGA fees for this event, all proceeds will be spent on prizes to be won by participants. Prizes could total over $500 with a full event!
Although the course does include water hazards, no holes will have participants throwing over water for this event. The layout will include a mix of short and long tees on holes 16, 17 (short only), 18, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (short only) and the practice basket surprise hole! less
