About this tournament
2 rounds of play
Hello All,
Just a few basic things to make sure you're ready for the event.
-Access code for PDGA scoring: adrian
-I will be arriving at the course early to shovel and salt all teepads. We should be good to go! April is supposed to be nicer than this, but I know many of us disc golf all winter long. So just dress appropriately and we will have as much fun as we always do.
-If you are unable to attend, please let me know immediately via text at 612-850-8795. At this point the PDGA rules do not allow for a full refund, but you get nothing back if you simply don’t show up without contacting me. PDGA rules for withdraws are on their website and linked on Disc Golf Scene.
-Because of the never-ending winter, the parking will be a bit different this year. When I was at the course last weekend the snow in the normal parking areas was still deep enough that I didn’t trust parking there. Use your own judgement, but please do not get stuck and please do not rip up the grass. There are plenty of other places to park. There is a small area on the walk between 17 and 18 that would work for a few cars. We can also park along the side of Indiana Ave. and Franklin St. (see map). Just make sure you leave plenty of room for other vehicles to pass AND make sure you don’t park anywhere on the street beyond 18s teepad. When playing hole 18 a lot of people throw over the road, so we can’t have any cars parked there.
-I will be set up from roughly 8:00-9:00am if you have any questions or need any discs. Check-in is not required, but there will be a short informal player meeting at 9:15am in case there are any last minute questions or announcements. Mostly, just make SURE you are at the correct hole by 9:28am for the two-minute warning. My events start ON TIME. If the wind or distance make it so that you do not hear my two-minute warning or starting announcements, please just go by the time on your phones.
-Your starting holes for round one will be posted at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/65857 the night before the tournament, but please be sure to check again before going out to your holes. Last minute drops/adds could potentially change something.
-We will be using PDGA Digital Scorecard for this event. Simply go to pdga.com/score or download the PDGA Live app. If you are unfamiliar with this, feel free to look at the brief tutorial on the PDGA website at https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/score/help . But don't stress. It is fantastic and super easy to use. Just go to either option and type in our access code: adrian
-Be sure to CONFIRM each player's round at the end of the round. This is VERY important.
-All divisions will be playing long tees both rounds. If you are unfamiliar with the course, I've attached a course map to this email. OB information is as follows: Creek and roads go through the entire course. A disc surrounded by water or pavement is OB on any hole. Any disc that is across the water or pavement is also OB (with the exception of hole 14).
-Second round will start exactly one hour from when the last card is finalized. This time and your second round starting holes will be posted on the PDGA results page, as well as on pdga.com/live and pdga.com/score. In the past the PDGA results page has taken awhile for their serve to upload, so I would suggest the other two options. It will be posted as soon as I know, and you will need to check online to find your starting holes anyway, so give yourself as much time as possible and don't wait around to ask me when the next round starts. If you are ready to tee off one hour from when YOU finished, you are guaranteed to be in the clear.
-Payouts for open divisions are available in cash at the end of the day OR via PayPal. If you choose PayPal, please contact me after you leave to provide the necessary information. Payouts for AMs will be available onsite at the end of the day. You may redeem funny money or save it until another one of my events (Maiden Shade Open, Pete Tjader Memorial, CCO, etc.). Please note, if you save it for CCO it can only be used on CCO items, not with the other vendors that are there.
Let me know if you have any questions. Stay safe and shoot well.
