Hi everyone, we are less than 2 weeks from the event! Figured it is a good time for an update.

I will be going to the course this week. I'll be taking videos on the holes and pictures. The plan is to post the pictures with the hazard lines drawn in and all so players will have a better idea of the course design. The videos will be on our youtube page (will email the link) so you can watch each hole. These should be out by Tuesday.

The caddy book will be out by Tuesday. I will do a ... more

Will the layout be on UDisc for Friday practice rounds?

Joshua Cheney   12 hours ago

Great question. I will work on getting it on there. Since there are at least 2 temp baskets I would have to add new positions. I will have an answer after I go up to the course.

Howdy. I assume the dates are for July 15-16, Saturday and Sunday.

July 15 is a Monday.....

Whoops! Looking at June calendar. Thought I saw July.

I have had some players inquire about the course layout. While the final design is still in progress, I can give you a quick overview of what I have planned. To start, remember that we will be doing tee times and hole 1 for the tournament will be the normal course hole 10. I will have tournament tee signs out to make sure you are playing the correct hole and bags will be over the baskets that are not in play. Normal holes 1-6 will not be in play for the event since we cannot shut down the course ... more

I agree with Kyle think it would be a great opportunity to do 10 tee pad to 11 basket. Think everyone who’s ever played that course has wanted to do that.

Joshua Cheney   June 12 at 10:07pm

That idea was discussed and we tested it before. For this event it won't be in play. I have it on another layout design. It would require at least 1 spotter down there. Hopefully we can use it at a future event.

Thank you to everyone that has registered so far for the event. Everything is in motion to have a solid weekend. I will be making a trip up to Sky High soon to finalize the last details with the course on all the plans we have started.

With that, I need to order the items for the players packs this week . Along with custom discs only available at tournaments from Innova, amateur players will also be receiving a tournament edition towel from Flight Towel. However, I need to get these ordered ... more

Course Layout for the event update. Mike and I were discussing what to do for the course. Him and I personally would like to have a full closure of the course so we could put some of the holes to the test. However, his bosses aren't quite set yet on allowing a full closure in the middle of the summer months. With that, we came up with a plan. Hole 1-6 will not be used for the tournament. They will remain open for the public to use and for tournament players to warm up on. We will be using h ... more

What about fixing and replacing basket #9? Are they ever considering doing this? Have you discussed this with them? Thanks Josh!

Joshua Cheney   May 9 at 4:13am

I haven't discussed it in detail, but it has been brought up. Right now I will be using the temp one I had at the Meltdown. It will be in the same area too (in the trees) as the finishing hole from teepad 8 playing as a par 4.

Here is a link to the Table Mountain campground. The dates for the event are available. If you are planning to play the event and would like to camp, they recommend you reserve your campsite soon as summer spots fill up.

Hey everyone. It has been a while since I posted an update for the event. I will sanctioning the event here shortly. Just got off the phone with Mike (sky high manager) and we are confirmed a go. If you are planning to play and are looking to camp, he said reservations are open but spots are filling up so you need to jump on it if you want a site.

Mike is having a meeting tomorrow with the bosses about allowing the course to be fully closed for us or if we can have priority use over the hole ... more

That's the plan. Push the players to play their best on a XL layout. Going to discuss the details with the course management on Saturday to finalize the plan before registration open.

John Ryan    November 6 at 7:57pm

Are these dates official and is this event taking over for the sky high showdown? Only asking because my son might be at junior worlds this weekend.

David Yancey   November 6 at 8:51pm

Hey John, The dates are official. The Skyhigh showdown is still going on, I hope for better weather for their next event. We are adding a third event at Skyhigh with another layout not yet used in tournament play. The three events would be Mountian Meltdown (May- two rounds of 18 single day) Elevati ... more

John Ryan   November 6 at 10:03pm

David, thank you for the update. We will most likely be at Mountain Meltdown, but since this event falls on Field events and or doubles for Junior Worlds we cannot attend unless something derails my sons plans for next season. Thanks for the quick response.
