Showdown at Spilman Players Meeting
Hello Players!
As always, and most importantly, thank you each and every one of you for registering to play in the tournament. I can’t wait to see all of you, and watch you compete.
The Showdown at Spilman is presented by Dynamic Discs who has again provided a great assortment of tournament-stamped discs. We are also extremely pleased to continue our partnership with Elevate Co-Work and Community Culpeper, LLC.
This tournament will be held at Spilman Park DGC in Jeffersonton, VA. The address is 3542 Colvin Rd. Jeffersonton, VA 22724. We will be playing both rounds at this course.
The Elevate Co-Work and Community of Culpeper CTP Challenge will be held on Hole 18 during round 2. The CTP prize will be $100 cash.
The Schedule for the tournament will be as follows. Check in for round 1 will start at 8:00 am until 8:45 am. Round 1 shotgun start will be at 9:00am. Round 2 will begin approximately 90 minutes after the last card is submitted for round 1, to allow all players ample time to get to the Town of Culpeper, or the Town of Warrenton, and get a good lunch without being rushed. The trophy ceremony will be held at Tournament Central about 10 minutes after all cards have been submitted from round two.
For those who may not be familiar, Spilman Park has 2 porta-potties and no running water. I will have bottled of water, but each player is strongly encouraged to bring enough water and snacks to sustain them through the round. This course is in UDisc and we will be playing the standard configuration. There will be some OB, and they are notated in the Live Scoring app.
We will be having a raffle at the tournament. Raffle tickets will be sold before each round, with the drawing taking place during the second round. Winners will be able to claim their prize at the conclusion of Round 2. Tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20.
As always, weather is unpredictable. We will play the tournament rain-or-shine, with the only exception being for lightning. Should we have to suspend play for lightning, we will notify all players to seek shelter, until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike. Should it become necessary, we will make modifications to the schedule in accordance with PDGA regulations and Guidelines.
We will be using the PDGA Live Scoring app for the scoring, and I am STRONGLY encouraging each card to use the Live Scoring app for the back up score card as well. This makes my job exceptionally easier at the end of each round. There will be paper score cards reluctantly handed out should all of the players on any particular card not be technologically inclined. For those who haven’t committed it to memory yet, the Live scoring app can be found at PDGA.com/score and the access code is “Spilman”. You can also find the new PDGA Live Scoring app on your respective App Store.
Tournament Central will be located next to the stone chimney behind the first tee pad.
Here is the tournament staff. If you have any questions or any issues arise, please let one of the staff members know, and we will coordinate with you to get the appropriate resolution for your circumstance.

Should any division finish the tournament with a tie for 1st place, there will be approximately a 10-minute break and then a playoff. The playoff holes will be Holes 1-3, 11-18 and will continue until a winner is determined.
The player packs for this tournament are pretty simple. Each player will receive a tournament-stamped disc and some great jerky from Double G Craft Jerky. And if you are vegetarian or vegan, fear not, Double G has you covered. We have the Eagle McMahon signature plant-based jerky available upon request.
There will be a pro shop set up at Tournament Central. We will have Trilogy branded discs, bags, and accessories available for sale as well as pins and DiscDots. We will accept all major credit cards as well as PayPal, Venmo, and new for this tournament, CashApp.
I know there is a lot of information that was covered, and I am quite certain I missed something. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at [email redacted], send me a text at (540) 881-0611 or leave a comment on Disc Golf Scene. See everyone at the tournament!
