Online registration is open!
Our plan is to start league on Tuesday, June 2nd. Please understand that this is a very fluid situation and we are still in process of making sure league is set up in a way that follows guidelines and is socially responsible. 2020 League will be very similar in structure to previous years, but with a few changes here and there. We'll keep you updated via Facebook and DGS as decisions are made.

League play, Tuesday nights 4pm-6pm
June 2nd - September 15th: Official Rounds (no preseason)
Players Pack - 2 premium discs, T-shirt, beanie, towel, mini

Part of the success of our club in past years has been preparation for the upcoming season. Many hours have already been spent planning for 2020. We have determined that our most effective format will be based on a league of 120 members or less, and to that end we will be prepared to distribute the 2020 membership packages to the first 120 members.
Please be patient and understanding during this process as we are learning as we go in this unprecedented social situation.

1. 2020 SADGC League Committee Members:
a. In no particular order – Dennis DeBoer, Dan Kuipers, Rob Buit, Ben Barton, Todd Tracy, Jason Butch and Zach Vaughn
2. Covid Special Rules
a. Despite the stay at home orders lifted, we believe league members should observe social distancing best practices. Please keep 6 feet of distance and refrain from touching other people’s discs, bags, etc.
3. Rules
a. Out of Bounds
i. Hole #1 – Over the fence & on/in the soccer/solar panel field short grass.
ii. Hole #2 – On or over the road & on/in the soccer/solar panel field short grass.
iii. Hole #4 - Past the basket, over the logs separating state park land.
iv. Hole #5 – Over the fence on the left.
v. Hole #6 – Over the fence on the left.
vi. Hole #7 – MANDO (see below) & on or over the road.
vii. Hole #8 – MANDO (see below) & on or over the road.
viii. Hole #9 – Over the fence left & in the OB collection area behind 10 yellow basket.
ix. Hole #10 – Over the fence & in the OB collection area past the yellow basket.
x. Hole #11 – Over the fence on the right.
xi. Hole #12 – On or over the road.
xii. Hole #13 – On the road.
xiii. Hole #14 – Within the dried-up lake short of yellow basket & on the road & over the fence behind the black basket.
xiv. Hole #15 – FREE DROP ZONES (see below) On or over the road & over the fence on the right.
xv. Hole #16 – MANDO (see below) All discs must clear the road during your teeshot. Shots that finish on or short of the road proceed to the drop zone with a penalty stroke.
xvi. Hole #17 – On the road.
xvii. Hole #18 – On or over the road & over the fence on the right & in the parking lot past the wooden posts.
b. Mandos
i. Mandos: Hole #8 and hole #7 will feature Mandos. Your disc must pass to the right of the marked sign. Hole #16 Mando as in past years, your disc must land across the road to be considered in bounds. All missed Mandos proceed to the drop zone with a penalty stroke.
c. Hole 15 Free Drop Zones
i. If your disc lands within the 2 marked circles surrounding the log piles, proceed to the drop zone with NO penalty stroke. There are 2 drop zones. Proceed to the drop zone nearest to the marked circle where your disc came to rest.
d. Scoring
i. Digital Scoring
1. Players are encouraged to use the “Disc Golf 2 – PDGA” app found on any app store. Upon completing your group score, please email your score using the app to Zach and Stephen at [email redacted] and [email redacted] This is the preferred method as it will provide simple copy and paste functionality for scorekeeping. Save Stephen’s manual entry time by using this app and emailing the scores!
2. Players may elect to use a scoring app of their choosing and email a screen shot of the scores to the emails shown above.
3. Lastly, paper scorecards can be used. Again, it is preferred that players take a picture of the score and email to Zach and Stephen.
ii. Incorrect score will be docked 5 points during official league play. A wrong score will be like losing to 5 more people.
iii. You have 2 hours to submit your scores after you have finished your round. Scores submitted after the 2-hour window will incur a 5 point deduction to the scorekeeper.
e. Playing Groups
i. Each playing group should have no less than 3 players with at least 2 SADGC League members. Groups should not exceed 4 players in an effort to help the flow of play.
ii. Exceptions to this may be made in the case of divisionals as well as the last group to tee on Tuesday’s.
4. Competition
a. Format and Schedule
i. League play currently begins at 3:30pm with assisted tee-times to help flow between 4:30 and 6pm. All players shall tee off on hole #1.
ii. Regular Season 18 holes each. 8 rounds Yellow pins and 8 rounds Black pins
1. 4 Rounds Yellow: June 2nd – June 23rd;
2. 4 Rounds Black: June 30th – July 21st;
3. 4 Rounds Yellow: July 28th – August 18th;
4. 4 Rounds Black: August 25th – September 15th
iii. Divisionals, Hi-Lo, and Players Party - Stay tuned while we reexamine the latest governmental guidelines.
b. CTPs
i. With the understanding that players may not feel comfortable handling CTPs, we have removed all CTPs that correspond with membership dues (Money shot & Money Putt) and will award those via a random procedure. Your participation in CTPs is voluntary as all CTPs are donations which are not paid for by membership dues.
ii. Money Shot and Money Putt – A portion of every person’s membership fee goes to fund these awards which typically award 1 shot and 1 putt each night. This year, these 2 prizes will be given away at random for those who played that night. The drawing will take place via random.org and broadcast on the 2020 SADGC League and Events facebook page via FB live.
c. Did-not-finish (DNF) procedure
i. Every league round that a player starts, they should finish.
1. Exceptions to this rule that will allow for a player to abort their round:
a. Lightning
b. Injury
c. Family or personal reason which involves immediate action off the course
2. All exceptions should be confirmed and verified by the playing group members and reported to an SADGC committee member
ii. Players reported as Did-not-finish without group confirmed valid exception, or unverified reporting to SADGC committee will result in removal from scoring based awards for end of season payouts.
d. Aces
i. Each member ace will receive $250 at the end of the season. (If more than the budgeted aces are hit, all aces will be prorated based on number of aces).
e. Guests
i. Guests are free in 2020, but will not be eligible for CTP or ace prizes
f. Points
i. As in past years, players will accumulate points throughout the season based on how they perform against their handicap.
ii. Due to the lack of preseason, points will not be awarded until week #3 in which points and achievements will be retroactively applied. If a player has not established a handicap by week #3, they will forfeit any points earned in those weeks.
iii. Players will drop their worst weekly point total as computed by disc golf scene at the end of the season – 15 of 16 weeks totaled.
g. Handicaps
i. Previous rounds played in the SADGC league, up to 10 rounds, will be used to calculate 2020 handicaps.
ii. New players and those without handicaps:
1. 3 rounds are required to set your handicap
2. For information on how your handicap is computed, please contact Zachary Vaughn
h. Divisions
i. For 2020, all players will be placed into divisions to provide a new avenue for achievements and awards. Divisions will be based on the following handicap breakdowns and will be locked in after week 7.
1. Division 1 < 3
2. Division 2: 3 – 5.9
3. Division 3: 6 – 8.9
4. Division 4: 9 – 14
5. Division 5: > 14
ii. Sandbagging/Anti-bagging rules – players may be moved at the discretion of the committee to avoid unfair play in the situation that a player far exceeds or fails to achieve competitive status within a division.
i. Awards
i. Scoring Awards:
1. A player must have a minimum of 5 rounds in the yellow pin configuration and 5 rounds in the black pin configuration to qualify for year-end scoring awards.
2. Awards will be given based on overall scoring as well as division-based scoring.
ii. Point based awards
1. Awards will be given based on overall points as well as division-based points.
j. PDGA League
i. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, sanctioning was not allowed at the time of league planning. We will monitor the situation and consider adding an optional PDGA league during the 2nd part of the season.
