It is with a heavy heart that I will not be joining the Shore Acres Disc Golf League for the 2019 season. The league has been one of the most looked forward to events of both Leah and myself for the past several years. All of the friends we have made have been nothing but a blessing to us, and we will always remember every member who has blessed our lives with fellowship and competition.
For those wondering, this decision is not due to league structure, views of those within (or outside) of the league, or even our personal finances. More so, it is due to a component we have not yet figured out how to successfully increase. That being time together as a family. With me attempting to manage a freelance graphic design and illustration business, while also working a minimum of three nights during the week, as well as assisting in running the first year of the Breakers League (more to come on that as we solidify the date), filling the last available evening during the week with more time away from our son (soon to be sons in early July) is not being a responsible husband or father.
That being said, once we are able to free ourselves from my having to work evenings, we will be returning to the league. Also, I will still attempt to make it out on rare occasions. We both want to contribute to the league regardless of our involvement in playing, and (if needed for anything) please do not hesitate to ask for our assistance.
