After much debate and consideration of the impending weather forecast our SOWS Board of Directors have decided to postpone the SOWS events for this weekend. We did as much research as possible into the forecast from the National Weather Service and the Winter Storm Warnings that are in effect for Selma and the surrounding areas.

Hey everyone,

After much debate and consideration of the impending weather forecast our SOWS Board of Directors have decided to postpone the SOWS events for this weekend. We did as much research as possible into the forecast from the National Weather Service and the Winter Storm Warnings that are in effect for Selma and the surrounding areas.

Our biggest concerns are with the safety of our players while traveling to and from the event. I will attach the Winter Storm Warnings that we are looking at but we simply can't guarantee that the passes on I-5 and Hayes Hill will be cleared enough for us to feel comfortable about players traveling to the event. The thought of playing disc golf in 7 inches to 2 feet of snow hasn't even really been factored into the decision. It's simply about safety and following the recommendations from the National Weather Service to limit travel. For what it's worth Lake Selmac's elevation is right around 1400 feet.

The event will be rescheduled for April 1-2 with AM Day remaining on Saturday and Pro Day Sunday. If any players can't make the new dates, you will be fully refunded as we know this is out of your control. I will open any remaining spots on AM day back up for sign ups in a couple days after we have processed any refund requests from players who can't make the new dates.

I understand people are going to have differing opinions on the postponement of this event for a couple weeks. Please understand that our Board of Directors has made this decision with the safety of ALL players in mind. We have many players that travel from Roseburg or north and would have to navigate multiple mountain passes that would likely need to be plowed to make travel safe or possible.
