About this tournament
2 rounds of play
This is a rare opportunity to play a tournament at Jockey's Ridge State Park. It will be part of their 50th anniversary celebration. You can find more info on other celebration events here. https://friendsofjockeysridge.org/50th/
This event will be 2 rounds on Sunday June 8th. This will be a tee time event with one set of tee times in the morning (8:00am-11:50am) and one set in the afternoon (1:00pm-3:50pm). Divisions will be in the same order for morning and afternoon waves so everyone will have a similar break between rounds. Reordering of cards will take place between morning and afternoon waves.
Example: If your division tees off the morning round from 9:10am-9:40am then that division will tee off the second round between 2:10pm-2:40pm.
We are trying to squeeze as much daylight out of this event to allow for the most players possible. Player capacity is at 96. With a sunset time of 8:18pm we should be able to do an award ceremony with a beautiful backdrop.
There is an option for hole sponsorship for this event of $40 with a limit of 18. There is also a friends of Jockey's Ridge sponsorship of $25 with no limit. We need to build tee pads and some platforms for the baskets to set on. You may update registration at any time to add the sponsorship. Thank you in advance for all your help.
The Course:
Obviously this course is going to be played in June through the sand dunes. While early June typically isn't the hottest time here temps can get up and the sun can wear on you. While we will have water on the course please bring a good bottle, sunblock and snacks.
The course isn't going over the largest of the dunes due to the other events going on that week but there will be some elevation change on your journey. The layout isn't nailed down yet but it will be more of a fun layout with just a few real challenging holes. Much more throwing downhill than uphill. Layout will be posted here when we get it where we want it.
