Hello again competitors! Here is the update you’ve been waiting for.

The tournament goes on! Tee pads have been salted and covered, and the course is looking beautiful, if a bit snowy. The schedule outlined for the day remains the same and we are excited for play in some of the more unique course conditions our region sees.

Some notes on logistics:

All scoring will be done electronically via The PDGA digital scorecard web-app which can be located here: https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/score/login

Scorecard access code included in pre-event email.

All backup scoring should be recorded using UDisc and will only be necessary in the case of rare technical difficulties with the PDGA digital scorecard. If you do not already have the app please download it.

The motto for this tournament is COME PREPARED. Please dress appropriately to stay dry and warm. I for one will be rubber banding gallon zip-lock bags between my socks and shoes to be safe :)

REGARDING REFUNDS
I understand that there is the potential for travel difficulties for some registrants. While the PDGA only requires that 25% of the registration fee be refunded to registrants that request a refund within 14 days of an event, I would like to make an exception and exceed this standard given the extenuating circumstances overnight weather may cause. If you request a refund between now and the close of registration you will receive a $10 refund of your registration fee. This both exceeds PDGA requirements and allows costs incurred for the event to be covered. Additionally, if you paid for you Pierce County club membership via registration we hope that you would like to support our club and remain a member. However, I will refund the entire cost of the membership add-on if requested.

Please use only the below dollar amounts if you request a refund:

$10 - You would like to remain a club member despite pulling out of the event.
$35 - You would like the membership add-on cost (paid during registration) returned to you.

Good evening competitors!

As I’m sure you’ve heard, western Washington is expecting some snow over the next few days. While we won’t know the extent to which this may effect the course until much closer to the event, Matt and I are already planning ahead. Matt just got back from Lowe’s after picking up over 100 lbs of salt to spread over tee pads (thank you Matt), and I’ve ordered 1000 yards of ribbon for taping to and finding your discs in the case there is any measurable accumulation of snow.

As of now no changes are being made to the event schedule, though, Matt and I will be keeping a close eye on the forecast and course conditions to assess/implement any changes necessary to ensure the tournament runs smooth and as safely as possible. While no changes are expected as of now, if course conditions deteriorate so much as to effect the pace of play, some changes to the event format may be necessary to ensure competition completes on time. Again, I will provide any updates related to that matter if/when they are necessary.

While we are hoping for the best, always prepare for the not best! This will be a cold couple of rounds no matter what and the ground is likely to be somewhat wet/muddy so please plan and dress accordingly. Layering, waterproof/Gore-Tex shoes and an extra pair of socks are highly recommended.
