Par2
Prodigy and the Cobb Disc Golf Club have been working very hard together to bring you the best Par2 anywhere and we can now share the full details. We will have two different Par2 layouts of 12 holes each. Beginners will play a more open and shorter layout around holes 12-17 of Oregon Park and will not be competing for prizes. The Beginners will instead receive a free Prodigy Starter Bag with their entry fee. The more advanced and experienced players will play a more challenging layout around holes 5-10 of Oregon Park. This layout will test your upshot and putting abilities with a difficult variety of shots. Players who sign up for this layout will be playing for a new Prodigy Backpack and a selection of six Prodigy discs.
With your Par2 entry, beginner or advanced, you will receive a raffle ticket for a portable Prodigy Basket (value $350-$400). You may purchase additional raffle tickets at $5 each and then use those tickets to enter additional competitions or replay the Par2 course trying to get that top score. The top ten scores will receive an extra raffle ticket, increasing your odds of winning the Prodigy Basket.
In addition to the Par2 you will be able to test your distance and accuracy at our driving range that will take place at the pavilion down at hole 5. You will get five throws to score as many points as you can. To score well here, accuracy will be more important than distance as you will need to "call your shot" and then land within 30ft of the marker for that range to score full points or within 50ft for half points. Longer distances earn more points but you still have to hit within 50ft to score any points at all. The maximum points you can earn here is 2500 but anything over 1000 is going to be a good score.
We will also have a putting competition. The game requires five putters and goes by various names such as JYLY or Puttz. You will be putting from 5-10 meters scoring points for each putt made. The maximum points here are 1000. A respectable score of over 400 should leave you feeling pretty good about your putting.
Winners of the individual distance/accuracy and putting events will receive the new Prodigy Practice Bags. These are bags that hold up to 44 drivers or 30 putters that are perfect for your field work or to keep all those lose discs in one place that seem to slide all around the trunk of your car. Top five will all receive an extra raffle ticket to increase their odds at winning the Prodigy Basket.
The winner with the best combined score will win a Prodigy Backpack. Come early and play often to put together the best score.
Prizes for winner of the Par2: Prodigy Backpack+6 Prodigy discs (approx value $270)
Distance+Accuracy: Prodigy Practice Bag (approx value $35 )
JYLY Putting: Prodigy Practice Bag (approx value $35)
Best combined score: Prodigy Backpack (approx value $180)
Raffle: Prodigy Portable Basket (approx value $350-$400)
Looking forward to seeing you all out there!
