Thank you for registering to compete in the 2024 Norfolk Classic sponsored by MVP Disc Sports! We are excited to bring PDGA Sanctioned Play to the City of Norfolk.
Check in at Lafayette Park will be at the small pavilion near Hole 2. Please check in with Bryce Molony, the Tournament Director for that course. The usual practice basket is available for use and the course will be open to play until the player’s meeting begins. Please be mindful of park visitors that are not involved in the tournament. Lafayette Park is a multi-use municipal park. Be good representatives of the sport and observe common-sense safety rules as well as all rules outline in the Official Rules of Disc Golf and Competition Manual.
Check in at Poplar Hall will be on or by the basketball courts. Players packs are only available for pickup at Poplar Hall. Additionally, Play It Again Sports Chesapeake/Newport News will have a flymart setup near the check-in table. Like with Lafayette, Poplar Hall is a multi-use municipal park, so please be mindful of other park visitors. Parking can be tight here. Do not block any driveways or park other people in. Whenever possible, park on the side of the road closer to the highway to avoid cars being in play for the round (especially on holes 1 and 2).
There are many players who are new to sanctioned play or have not competed in recent years. To these players – please ensure you are checking the Official Rules of Disc Golf or contacting your course TD for any rules disputes. This is not a casual round of golf and it is important for everyone, regardless of skill level or division, to adhere to the same standards of competition. Both the Official Rules of Disc Golf and the Competition Manual are available on the PDGA Live mobile app.
We will be utilizing PDGA Live Scoring as our primary method of keeping score. ALL PLAYERS MUST KEEP A SCORECARD. If you do not have the PDGA Live app, paper scorecards will be available from your TD, or you can use the corresponding UDisc layouts instead (Alternating Layout for Lafayette, 2024 Norfolk Classic Layout for Poplar Hall).
PDGA Live Scoring Access Code: NFK24
If there are any disputes or issues that arise during the event, please contact your course TD for assistance.
