Hi Everyone! We apologize for the radio silence while we were getting everything situated. NEW YAK CITY IS STILL A GO! However, there are some adjustments.

Due to safety being our #1 concern, the tournament will take place solely DOWNTOWN. No Hawthorne. Only 1 pool. And we eliminated potentially hazardous holes to a 12 hole layout. So, that being said here's the format:

12 holes downtown
4 rounds
9am flex to 11am start time
As a card fills up, we'll send them out starting on hole 1.
Get your 4 rounds in at your own pace (however, if you don't have 2 rounds done by 1pm consider picking up the pace)
Turn in your score card AFTER EACH ROUND
Tournament HQ, registration and payouts will be at Hidden River Park Next to Fillmore 13 Brewery.


7:30 Registration Opens
(kinda) Flex start- We still want people to get there at the original time of 9am if they can but understand that some live farther away. We are giving people by 11 am to start. These holes are short and for those who have played this event in the past know how quickly you can get through the downtown course and this one is even shorter.

We don't get a whole lot of opportunities to play the downtown course and we want to seize it for those that can make it. We know the mix of the 2 courses is ideal but we hope you guys understand the necessity for this change.

Parking will be available at the McClaren Hospital Parking Garage, the lot at the SW corner of Huron and Saginaw and the lot at the SW corner of Clinton and Wayne.

PLEASE reach out to your friends and anyone in A Pool to inform them of the change, if possible. We we also be sending out emails and will have someone posted at Hawthorne for those that didn't receive the message.

We appreciate all of your guys' understanding and cooperation! So play a few rounds, take a break and have a couple beers at Fillmore 13. If nothing else, this will be a New Yak City Smash to remember!!

Weather Problems at the Downtown Smash in PONTIAC!
Due to adverse weather conditions, we are doing 4 ROUNDS at DOWNTOWN PONTIAC!
There will no Hawthorne play at all!!
We are doing a flex schedule. You can pick your own card (min 4 max 7.)
We are still starting off at the same times but we will only allow until 10:30 am unless you let Jake, Tad or me know. Only serious reasons please, as we want to make this as fast as possible.
Beforehand!! We will ALLLL ALLL be meeting in front of "Fillmore 13 Brewery" ( 7 N Saginaw St Suite 1D, Pontiac, MI 48342)
We can park on the road, on Saginaw. The McLearn hospital parking lot building is free as well, or you can also park at Saginaw and 59. There is a lot also at 30 N Saginaw St, Pontiac, MI 48342, which leads down through the alley to the tent! 30 N Saginaw and 18 Pike.
We are SO sorry about the changes, but we made a last minute decision and agreed that this is our best option.
Taking into consideration the fact that many people love this tournament for the downtown layout, we felt that it was our best choice!!

9:00 AM - will be when it starts but we are trying to accommodate everyone given the weather conditions, so that's why we are flexing it.

Also we must keep in mind how hard it is on the TD to reschedule these types of events. Especially when part of the tournament deals with the city of Pontiac itself. Not to mention all the sponsorships and volunteers for this event. I’d think a cancellation is more likely than a reschedule at this point. I respect either decision they make but we have to look at this from both angles.

I'm really hoping to hear about a reschedule or 2nd event, but I've held out hope all week, and I think I have to bow out. This is one of my favorite events to play in. Bummed.

This will be my third year playing.

One thing I hope you do this year is run 2 rounds of downtown to mitigate the massive difference in time to play each course. It goes by so fast then you wait for like 2-3 hours to play round 2, or I assume the higher tier that plays Thorn first finishes and has to wait a couple hours for payouts and awards.
