About this tournament
The 2024 Ice Breaker Double Elimination Match Play tournament is here! This tournament is a double-elimination match play event that will begin on January 1st 2024.
This tournament will be a great way to start out the new year playing our favorite sport and competing against our fellow disc golfers in a format unlike the common stroke play events that we often play. The entry fee for this event will be $7. Please reach out to Jared for payment methods.
All matches are required to be played at the following courses:
Creekside Park
Glenburnie Park
For simplicity purposes and to minimize time needed for rounds, the white tees will be standard at both courses. If both players agree to play blue layouts that is okay but not required.
Matches will start on January 1st, 2024. The total length of the tournament will be decided by the total number of players in each division. Players will have 1 week time to schedule and play their match with their opponent. The courses for each week will rotate between Creekside and Glenburnie Park and specified on the official bracket/updates.
Payout for this event will be determined by total number of entrants in each division.
The schedule and bracket will be updated on Disc Golf Scene each week. Reminders will be sent via Facebook messenger and via the updates on DG Scene.
Each match will consist of 18 holes at the aforementioned course and will follow the PDGA’s official rules for match play found in Appendix A of the PDGA's official rules. There can be no ties in this event; therefore, all ties shall be settled immediately with a sudden death playoff.
After the match, it is the responsibility of the winning player to report the score to the TD via DG scene message/ FB message/ text.
The championship and semi-final rounds may be set by the TD if there are spectators who would like to attend. If possible, all finalists will play on one final card together to make it easier for spectators to attend.
