NY Women's Social 2023
About this tournament
Hello Ladies!
After talking with my disc golf lady friends across the state, we thought it would be great to get together and meet more lady disc golfers! There are so many new women playing whether casually or competitively so it would be great to get to gather, meet and strengthen the women's disc golf family! So that said, in collaboration with ladies from other NY state clubs, I am happy to host the first NY Women's Social!
This will be a day of fun, laughs and meeting new people! This is strictly a day to come socialize, play disc golf and have some fun.
Format will be one round of 27 holes / doubles - no pressure play! Its listed as singles to allow individuals to register but it will be a doubles event where you will be paired with another women disc golfer. There will be a mix of best shot and alternate shot....team work and laughs!
You will be matched up with another club/area player to help promote meeting new people. (numbers permitting)
When you register, you need to pick what level of player you feel you are (categories are listed) then down lower on the registration page, please pick the club or area you are from. If your area isnt listed, let me know! Teams will be made up of A/C and B/B. This helps even out the teams for one big division.
There will NOT be a player's pack and because it is not sanctioned, being a PDGA member is not required. All levels of players are encouraged to come and participate! No pressure zone!
The entry fee is going to go toward purchasing items for a "field of dreams". (Thank you Lassaso's for the idea from Mine Kill!) This is where everyone will get at least 3 shots out in to a field of prizes. Closest discs to the prize after everyone shoots, gets that prize! There may be some small prize(s) for the top couple teams with the lowest score depending on how many attend and maybe a couple other silly prizes.
1.) To maximize available prizes, I will be asking if you can bring an item to donate. It doesn't have to be disc golf related so anything goes....beverages, jewelry, food, discs, disc towels, gift baskets, etc. Whatever you would like to donate!
2.) Another ask will be to bring a dish to pass/share for our lunch. This allows everyone to just sit and enjoy some good food and conversation!
This is strictly a socializing event to promote meeting other disc golfing ladies, have some laughs and just have a good day of disc golf with new friends!
