This is a NOVA Monthly. Anyone can play in it; you don't need a NOVA tag.
Divisions are our precious-material-themed monthly divisions:
GOLD players are PROs or high-rated Advanced AMs.
EMERALD players are women, unless they opt to play in one of the other divisions.
SILVER players are Advanced or upper-Intermediate AMs.
BRONZE players are lower-Intermediate or Recreational AMs.
PLATINUM players are over 60, unless they opt to play in one of the other divisions.
JUNIOR players are under 18, unless they opt to play in one of the other divisions.
GOLD pays $15 (with $10 to payout); JUNIORS are free (no payout); and everyone else pays $10 (with $5 to payout.
LAYOUT/SCHEDULE
This monthly is on a nine-hole temp course layout at Signal Hill Park in Manassas, VA. We will be playing two loops on the course for 18 total holes. We are doing preregistration because we need to gauge interest.
We will be SHOTGUN-STARTING at 9:30am. There will be a SECOND shotgun start time available (around 12:30pm) if we have sufficient interest (read: if we fill). Payouts and tags will be done PER SHOTGUN start. You MAY play both if you wish, but must pay the entry fee twice.
SQUAD GOALS
This is (hopefully) the first step to getting a disc golf course installed as a permanent piece of the park - which would be the first park course in Prince William County - so remember you're representing the club AND the sport as a whole.
That means no consumption of any substance prohibited by the park or Virginia law. If you need to do that to have a good time playing one round of disc golf, this ain't the event for you.
CHARITY!
James Short and the Manassas Host Lions Club are the ones who got the park interested in disc golf. We will be taking voluntary donations to their scholarship program, and will likely run fundraiser games and a raffle, as well.
