NADGT Haute Goat - 2023 - Supported by Innova
Part of NADGT - 2023 Season Events
About this tournament
Haute Goat will be hosting one of the Canadian NADGT stops this spring. After last year's success we are upgrading this event to a PDGA Sanctioned B-tier. Last year some Haute Goat players went to the Championship in Austin and had a great time.
Haute Goat is a big course and as such we have decided to try this event as a two day tee time event, you'll play one round per day within your division. Two competitive rounds in one day at Haute Goat can get a bit exhausting.
UPDATE: Feb 7:
After polling the FA1 and MA1 players we have decided to eliminate the TOP-GOAT final 9 as described below but we will bring it back for another event real soon:
"We will be wrapping up Sunday afternoon with the 9 hole TOP-GOAT 9 hole final nine loop for the top four finishers in MA1 and FA1, holes 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 18. We will hopefully have the beer cart out for spectators during the TOP-GOAT final nine."
Check out the full National Amateur Disc Golf Tour story at nadgt.com. Also details about what pros can play and just how much fun it is.
We will be offering the following divisions:
MA1 - FA1
MA2 - FA2
MA40 - MA50 - MA60
FA 40 - FA 50 - FA60
MJ 18 - FJ 18
MJ 15 - FJ 15
This will be a ‘NADGT Trophy Pin’ only event for the divisional winners with most value going into your player packs that include swag from NADGT, Haute Goat and Innova. We will have additional prizes for the top 3 finishers in each division assuming that division had more than 6 players. These NADGT events are supported by Grip6, check them out at: https://grip6.com/ - some of you won belts last year.
Layout assignments will likely be:
MA1 - two rounds on the Big Blue Goat
MA2 - MA40 - FA1 one round on the Big Blue Goat - one on the Short Goat
all others will play two rounds on the Short Goat by Throw Pink.
Top Finishers get an invite to the National Championships next October!
We will also have some CTP’s and offer an Ace Pot. The Haute Goat Ace Pot carries over from previous events and is seeded with $50 by Haute Goat. Nobody won the first PDG1 Ace Pot so there is already some cash piling up. PDG2 is coming January 21st.
.
Invitations to the National Championships are based upon divisional participation:
1-10 players = 1 qualifier for Nationals
11-20 players = 2 qualifiers for Nationals (and any ties)
21-30 players = 3 qualify for Nationals (and any ties)
...and so forth.
On top of that, at the end of the season the NADGT will extend invitations to the top Provincial points-earners who haven't already qualified for Nationals for each division. The standard PDGA points system will be used. Even more, the top overall points-earner in the province will also get a custom NADGT Canada jersey. The more NADGT events you play, the better your chances are to win an invite. Foxwood Open is also a NADGT qualifier for amateurs.
The full NADGT players manual will be available at NADGT.com
Pros - keep in mind if you aren’t a top tier you may be eligible to play under the PDGA Pros Playing Amateur rules and the added NADGT qualifier that your career winnings are less than $3000 CA and you won less than $1000 CA this past season. Check out the NADGT site for all the detailed rules.
The Screaming Goat Cafe at Haute Goat will be open and available for your enjoyment. We will be offering an option to purchase lunch with your registration. We feature local brews, ciders and wine for your post round needs.
Hope you come out to this NADGT stop and try to punch your ticket to the National Championship. We promise to treat you well and do our best to give you a great weekend of competitive disc golf.
