Mt. Hood Master’s Championship Driven by Innova
Update: This event has been moved to Milo McIver State Park, still on October 17-18, 2020.
Update: This event has been postponed till October 17-18, 2020. Timber park has been closed due to the fires and the forest service has occupied the disc golf course as their operations center.
Date and location:
September 12-13, 2020 at Timber Park, Estacada Oregon
Divisions:
This is a master’s level only tournament. All mixed and female divisions will be open for ages 40 and older. There is not a minimum number of athletes to make a division. However, trophies will only be awarded to the top 50% of the division with a maximum of 3 trophies per division. E.g.
# of athletes / # of trophies
1/1
2/1
3/2
4/2
5 or more/3
Covid-19:
To comply with local leaders and PGE requirements, there will not be a player meeting or awards ceremony on site. Please observe social distancing measures and all mandates to include staying a minimum 6’ apart and not gather in groups of 25. Wear face masks when required as well. We also ask you remain in your vehicle and not gather around tournament central prior to check in time. Please be flexible with the Covid-19 standards as they seem to evolve as we learn more.
Player’s meeting:
A virtual players meeting will be held online through Facebook and a printed version will be available as well.
Number of rounds and format:
There will be two rounds played over two days, one round per day of 21 holes. Due to restrictions being placed we were not able to coordinate for three rounds over two days like we wanted. Also, to help with social distancing, we will be using staggered start times in 15-minute intervals.
Award Ceremony:
Due to restrictions of Covid-19 the award ceremony has been canceled. Official scores will be posted on the PDGA event page. Trophies will be custom made to include the athletes name engraved on a laser-etched slate 8” round provided by Pro Active Sports. Trophies will be mailed to you and should be received approximately two weeks after the event.
Ring of Fire, Raffles and other events:
All additional activities that normally accompany a tournament have also been canceled.
Scrip & Player Packs:
There will be no scrip at this event. All amateur athletes will receive a player pack from Innova Champion Disc with a retail value of $100. Player packs will include a Premium Innova Disc, Prime Starflex Cap, Core Performance Tee, Tour Towel, Drawstring Bag, Sticker Sheet, Patch and a $5 DGU Coupon.
Payouts
Professional divisions will compete for 100% entry fee plus $500 added cash. All payouts will be made via PayPal with goods and services. If you do not have PayPal please contact the TD individually.
Sponsorships:
21 tee sign sponsorships will be available for purchase at the price of $25 each. Please considering sponsoring this event. Our goal is to help this grow bigger each year and increase payouts, player packs and scrip for next years event. If you would like to sponsor this event, please contact Marcus Burks.
TD Message:
I had a vision, a vision to make a regional master’s championship a memorable event. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions due to Covid-19, several concessions were made to make this event a go. The decision was made to have an abbreviated event anyway and make the best of it. I am sure many of you share my frustration of the many restrictions being placed on disc golf as a hole. However, I also hope you are optimistic that things can and will improve so next year this event will be exponentially better.
