Mikey's Angels Inaugural Make-A-Wish Disc Golf Tournament
About this tournament
Lebanon Valley Disc Golf and Just Playing Disc Golf Supply are teaming up to run a unsanctioned 2 round singles event at Jackson Rec Park in Myerstown, PA on Saturday, June 18th, 2022. This tournament will benefit the Make-A-Wish chapter that serves the Philadelphia, Delaware, and Susquehanna Valley areas.
This tournament is designed to collect as much money for Make-A-Wish yet handsomely reward the hot scorers for the day. Two playable divisions to sign up for: pro and am. The top player from each division will receive $250 cash for their win. Second place in each division will receive $75 in merchandise credit to the Just Playing Disc Golf mobile store which will be vending the event. Ams will not receive a player's pack. So $650 in total payouts and with full attendance, we plan on bringing in $2700. With just player donations for register, we already plan to give Make-A-Wish over $2000 but that is not all we have planned. An ace pot will be available at registration at $2 each player. Any player that hits an ace will be paid out cash at the end of the event. If multiple players hit an ace, the pot will be split. If an ace is not hit, the pot will be donated to Make-A-Wish as well.
For those who cannot play and would still like to donate to a worthy cause, I have set up a few non-participant divisions in increments of $10, $20, or $30. I have also set up a corporate sponsorship of $50 for any company willing to ante up. Every non-participant donor will be mentioned on a banner that will hang at the event's tournament central. Lebanon Valley Disc Golf will be putting up $250 towards this event immediately.
We are also asking all players attending the event to bring a new or gently used disc to the event to donate to a huge raffle we will run. All proceeds from this raffle will be donated to Make-A-Wish as well. Raffle tickets will be $2 each and an arm's length of tickets will be $20. Just Playing Disc Golf will also put up some great prizes for the raffle.
