Does anybody have Leonard's contact info? I'm trying to get him to come out and sell discs at an upcoming event. We talked about it, and he was supposed to give me his card but we got interrupted.

I removed the comment with Leonard's phone number but hopefully Tony say it or my email response with email address.

Does anyone know where to buy a mini here in Oakland, forgot a mini at home?

Cory Cliff   October 24, 2020 at 2:33am

I can bring an extra one for you!

Aaron Punzo   October 24, 2020 at 2:34am

Awesome thank you!!

Cory Cliff    October 23, 2020 at 10:12pm

Question: I’m on the top of MA1 and the only 10:47am tee time. I see that I’m paired up with 3 MA2? Is the normal? Would kinda like to play with my division. Thanks

Check on UDisc think they are getting close! I see my card!

Jeff Munsch   October 23, 2020 at 9:12pm

Thanks Cory

Israel Honeycutt    October 23, 2020 at 7:56pm

Any idea where the tee times will be posted? Should be up by now but not sure where that’ll be. Here?

Cory Cliff   October 23, 2020 at 8:47pm

Guessing they will be on PDGA. Been refreshing every few mins lol!

Antonio Salado   October 23, 2020 at 9:31pm

They are on UDisc

Cory Cliff    October 23, 2020 at 3:50am

Coming from Elk Grove! Does anyone know of a large field to warm up in near the course?! Don’t really wanna just hop out of the car and tee off lol!

What is the earliest we can be in this area based on our tee time? 30 mins?

Sean Jack   October 23, 2020 at 7:57pm

Yes. Players should arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your tee time and stay no longer than 30 minutes after completion of your round.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WznrsmQogNVXso7-PvTDhnQ_U0Zks4bK/view

Cory Cliff   October 23, 2020 at 8:48pm

Ok thanks! I’ll probably find a different field to warm up in before then come over!

Kevin McFarland    October 22, 2020 at 10:09pm

For divisions that don't have a number of entrants divisible by 4, will you be adding from the waitlist to fill out cards? Or combining players across divisions?

Shawn Mercy   October 22, 2020 at 11:51pm

Hey Kevin, we'll have to mix divisions for a few groups to even things out. We determined the overall number of players based on the number of tee times we can fit and we don't want to push it any more than we already are (i.e. first tee time is at 7:18am!!).

Kevin McFarland   October 23, 2020 at 4:53am

Totally understand. Is there a general order to when the divisions will tee off or is it scrambled up throughout the day?

Shawn Mercy   October 23, 2020 at 4:31pm

Hi Kevin, the Division order is: MA50, MA40, MJ12, FA1, MA2, MA1, MP50, MP40, FPO, & MPO

Darren Mounts    October 22, 2020 at 6:18pm

A LOT of nuance to this layout which is AWESOME! Are there hole by hole course notes that are printer friendly? Everyone will be playing this blind and knowing some “distance to carry water” and “distance to OB L/R” type stuff like posted on FB would be very beneficial and likely speed up play quite a bit. Maybe the notes on FB could be strung together to be able to print on 1-2 pieces of paper that can be carried on course?

Shawn Mercy   October 22, 2020 at 7:35pm

Hi Darren, we will absolutely have course notes / rules that are printer friendly. We are finishing up the details today and it will be made available to all players tomorrow (Friday). There will be quite a bit of information regarding distance to obstacles from the tee and basket.

Stephen Parrott    October 21, 2020 at 8:26pm

Probably too late to suggest this, but any chance we can add (by carving out of the 50+'ers) a new AM 60+ division? I'd hate to impose my elder advantage on the less experienced (LOL) players.

Shawn Mercy   October 21, 2020 at 9:41pm

Hi Stephen, thanks for your comment / suggestion. We can't add divisions at this point but we will consider it for next time.

Kevin Berg    October 21, 2020 at 6:44pm

Could I request a refund and let the next player on the waitlist in. Thank you

Shawn Mercy   October 21, 2020 at 7:35pm

You should be all set Kevin. Sorry you can't make it!

Randy Kong    October 21, 2020 at 5:37pm

Hi Shawn. With the earlier starting time, I wanted to see if I could request a later tee time for my division? I will be driving up Saturday morning, about 4 hours away. Thanks

Hi Randy, unfortunately, I can't guarantee a spot in the last group for your division. We won't be creating the groups and tee times until Friday AM and we won't have time to manually move people around. We've gotten quite a few requests and I've told everyone that we won ... more

Randy Kong   October 21, 2020 at 8:33pm

No problem. Thanks for everything you're doing. The course looks great

Shawn Mercy   October 21, 2020 at 9:40pm

Will the safari layout be sent out prior to the tourney?

Leonard Muise   October 21, 2020 at 4:07am

Yes. A complete map will be available on UDisc at least 24 hours before the event. But the course will not be available for practice on Friday or at any time. The baskets won't be put in place until dark on Friday. I've been posting pictures and descriptions of every hole on the Facebook event page for this tourney.

Ben Miller   October 21, 2020 at 6:05pm

Can you please provide a link to that event page? Thanks in advance.

Antonio Salado    October 20, 2020 at 3:54pm

Are we going to have a player's meeting before Tee time?

Shawn Mercy   October 21, 2020 at 4:56am

Hi Tony, there will be no conventional player's meeting. We will be sending out all the information you'll need over the next few days. We'll also have a quick run-down and answer any questions immediately before your tee time. Tee times will be published on Friday by noon.

Antonio Salado   October 21, 2020 at 2:03pm

Thanks Shawn.

Curious if caddies or spectators are allowed?

Shawn Mercy   October 12, 2020 at 6:58pm

Hi Randy, we will not be allowing caddies or spectators as part of our COVID-19 mitigation plan. We will be posting more information regarding other measures we are taking at the beginning of next week at the latest. Thanks for your understanding.

Randy Kong   October 12, 2020 at 8:00pm

No problem. Totally understand. Thanks Shawn

Shawn Mercy   October 13, 2020 at 12:27am

You're welcome Randy. See you in a couple weeks!

Aaron Punzo    October 7, 2020 at 3:17pm

Will there be a player pack at this event?

Sean Jack    October 6, 2020 at 8:53pm

Due to popular demand, Shawn and have reassessed start times and sunlight. We have added 10+ players, including spots for FA1. The first tee time is now 7:18 AM with the last group starting at 2:15 PM. We would love to increase the field size even more. However, we need to ensure final groups do not finish in the dark.

Jasmine Lim    October 6, 2020 at 1:11am

This might be contrary to traditional PDGA / general disc golf practice. In the event of a waitlist, would you prioritize womxn registrations if you received more of them in the waitlist? I've known of womxn discouraged to sign up due to fill registrations but in reality there are often LESS than 10 womxn sign up for local events vs. 80-100 men. Thoughts?

We will do our best to accomodaote all players on the WL. Due to demand, we are hoping to add 20+ more spots.

Michael Lindsay   October 6, 2020 at 3:24am

Awesome that 16 women signed up! I hope they all get in.

Mei Bruist   October 6, 2020 at 3:28am

No motorized carts but not sure about pull carts. The layout is not going to follow the regular ball golf course so using a motorized cart would be really tough.

Cory Cliff   October 6, 2020 at 4:56am

Right on! Ya if we could find out about pull carts I’d bring my Zuca.

Shawn Mercy   October 7, 2020 at 12:09am

Cory, you can DEFINITELY bring your own. In fact, I would recommend that to anyone who has one :-)
