Welcome to the first stop of the Tricky Disc Golf Series. Nicky Z. and I have been planning this tournament series slowly but surely. Our biggest concern for these tournaments is that we wanted to have 1) a solid local tournament for all of us close to and in Boulder and 2) affordability. This first stop is called "May the Frolf Be With You" and I am sure you all can guess why. There will be more to come but this is the pilot episode and we are all going to be learning together. We are trying to get away with a minimal amount of cost for you all, and the next tournament may be a little more expensive or a little less expensive! The most important thing to remember right now is that we are trying to keep this up every month and have it be affordable and in Boulder County, or extremely close to Boulder County. There will be points in this tournament series, and the final stop will be some sort of a championship, but we will figure that out AFTER this tournament, so stay tuned.

This tournament will have some modifications, but will be a pretty standard Valmont round. The mando on #4 will be played and the island will be played. There will be a small addition of some OBs to keep people safe and make it a little more challenging, but nothing wild. 2 rounds each 3 hours long, and an hour-long lunch.

For the player's packs, to keep it affordable we are doing T-shirts and no discs just yet (future dates maybe?). The cost of the T-shirt is included in the entry fee and you can select your size while signing up. If your size is not there or sold out, let me or Nicky know and I should be able to get you one no problem. Pros get payout and not a shirt, but if you play MPO or FPO and you want a shirt, let me know I can get you one for $15.

There's an ace pot you can buy into and we will have some fun CTP prizes that you don't need to pay for, but you do have to put it close to the pin if you want one!

On the day of, show up early and ready to have a good time and be flexible with us. We will try to answer all questions ASAP.

Thanks. Hole 12, which location long or short? It only says: Hole 12: 215’ Par 3 OB right marked by flags. Long OB marked by fence and flags.

Are well behaved partners and pets (no barking, on a leash, out of the way, etc) allowed to walk with the card?

Yeah, sorry Clifton, no pets allowed! Feel free to bring a human spectator though. PDGA doesn’t allow animals.

The course is set up the way it is going to be played in the tournament. 15’s tee pad is in a temp spot because of flooding, day of tournament it’ll be back to normal position. Flags are up and show OB. The island has been ever so slightly widened with flags and if you miss it’ll play as hazard (unless over fence). Other than the island, if you tee off and land on another side of some flags you’re probably OB. The caddybook will explain all of that and will be posted tonight or tomorrow morning.

Slight delay on the Caddy book. It’ll be on tomorrow. It doesn’t contain a map though, but it is an easy enough layout to understand it by reading.

Hey Travis L. Went to Valmont to check it out. Only Flags/OB is 17 right of the right pin (playing left pin), and very deep, 16 Island extended 1 feet by flags, 12 path and right OB, fairway between 9 and 10 OB for both (cuts closer to 10). Nothing that affects the shots too much except for the wide hyzer on 10 possibly

Quick question which hole is the island hole?

Generally it’s hole 16. Tree trunk sections create the island.

Hole 16! And we have made it to where there are flags about 2 feet out from the trunks to clear up any questions of being in or out while leaning against a stump.

I UPDATED THE T-SHIRT SIZES!! Sorry, I am no clothing fanatic so I had no idea what people's sizes were. If you did not get to pick the size you wanted you can now update it! Also, MPO/FPO, no shirt but if you want one you can buy one for $15! Just let me know.
