Welcome to the 2025 edition of the Longview Open presented by Innova Discs!
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE EMAIL. WE ARE NOT HAVING AN OFFICIAL PLAYER MEETING…THIS EMAIL IS YOUR PLAYER MEETING.
If you are receiving this email because you signed up another player for the event, please forward this info to that player.
THANK YOU SPONSORS:
THANK YOU to Innova Disc Golf for their title sponsorship.
Thank you also to Kent Bryan and the Kaw Valley Disc Golf Club (Lawrence) for their ongoing work at the course.
DIVISIONS / DATES:
Everyone is playing two rounds on a shotgun start tomorrow, Saturday May 3rd. Player check in will be from 8:30 am to 9:15 am at the shelter near the parking lot. First round hole assignments have been posted.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW
It is past the cutoff to request a refund. If you cannot make it and notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to the tee time of 9:30, amateurs will still receive their player pack. To cancel, text or call your name and division, with comment you are canceling to Rob at 785-764-2229.
PARKING -
The Corps of Engineers require us to park on only one side of the road. Therefore, park ONLY on the EAST side which is the side AWAY from the fairway of Hole 18. If you park on the wrong side, there is a possibility that you could be towed - at your expense.
Please do not park anywhere along the road that is near a golf fairway.
RESTROOMS
I have rented a portable restroom which will be near the shelter.
SCORING
We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. I will have paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.
Password: MDG253
CADDY BOOK
Hole lengths, pars, and OB rules are listed in the PDGA app while you are keeping score. The course rules are very simple:.
OB: On or over any road, parking lot, in or on shelter.
Water: Holes 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 is OB if completely surrounded by water. All other water on course is casual. Surrounded by water means, if there is water between your disc and the shore line, it is OB. Even if it's touching a rock, or grass, or a tiny island, if that rock / grass / island is surrounded by water you are OB.

COURSE CONDITIONS / INCLEMENT WEATHER
There are no known adverse conditions.
The tournament plays rain or shine or snow. If there is lightening, the Tournament Director will sound the air horn in three quick blasts and then repeat it again one minute later. If this happens, do not finish your hole. Mark your lie with a rock or a stick (something heavy) and seek shelter. We then suspend play until thirty minutes after the last lightening event. The restart time will be communicated by the tournament director and posted on the dgscene and facebook event pages.
PLAYER PACKS
All amateur players will receive a tournament stamped Innova disc. Recreational divisions (MA3 / FA3) will receive also receive a mini marker in addition to the disc.

WATER
There will be a limited amount of water at the course. The water on the course is a back-up. You NEED to bring enough water for you to last the day.
LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2
We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. It is quite possible that you will start on a different hole for Round 2. You can find your hole assignment and tee time for the second round at the pdga event page:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/88858
AWARDS / PAYOUTS
FIRST ROUND PRIZES
First round prize are Hot Round Mini Marker. While a small item, you can only get one if you have the hot round for our entire division (not the card, but the whole division).
SECOND ROUND PRIZES
Second round has a win your card, win a prize. Come see me after the second round if you won your card.
ACE / CTP FUND
If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. If neither applies, skip to next section.
Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is at least 40% higher than what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.
If no aces are hit, we play a CTP game after the second round to award the prizes.
PRIZES: There are three prizes
Innova EZ Target basket ($180)
MVP Voyager - James Conrad edition ($120)
Innova Park and Fly stool ($35)
Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?
TROPHY AWARDS
To decrease the amount of congregation we will not have a formal awards ceremony. Trophies will be given out as soon as the clear winner has been determined. Most divisions will have an actual trophy. Some divisions will have a medal with ribbon. It was based on how many players were in a division when the trophies were ordered. MA3 will have First, Second and Third place trophies or medals.
PRO PAYOUTS can be either a check mailed to you to save fees, or via PayPal Goods and Services (player pays fees) based on what you chose during registration.
AM PAYOUTS can either be redeemed via our webstore, maverickdiscgolf.com or in person at our physical store in Olathe, KS at 600 E. Santa Fe St. Ste C.
All payout vouchers for all Maverick DG vended tournaments in 2024 expire 12/31/2024.

My goal is to have the 'official' results posted to the PDGA by Monday evening.
