About this tournament
Welcome to Match Play Madness!
New York is a large state with a player base spread out over a huge area, as such, we rarely see tournament fields with all of the state's best players. Even the state championships are typically comprised of local players from whichever club is hosting in a particular year.
In 2023 we will be organizing a statewide 64 player match play tournament to crown the top dog.
Beginning in May, players will compete in district matches at local courses, with winners progressing towards the regional finals. The four regional winners will travel to Rochester in the fall to compete for a projected $3500 purse at the updated DGPT layout at Parma DGC.

3rd round - July
Regional Finals - August
Final 4 - Sept/Oct TBD
Given the uncertainty of our first year, we have selected the four regions based on player populations and proximity to tournament level courses. Within each region, players will register for their preferred district, and be seeded for first round matchups. Players will have one month to complete each round's matches.
Registration will open March 1st for qualified players. Tiered registration for NY residents will be used the first week before opening to all players.
