It's time to Glow!
Columbia's very own Mando Cart, in conjunction with AW YEAH and The Golden Pinecone presents the 2022 MVP Space Race at GLOWood!
This event is designed to be fun for experienced and brand new Glow golfers.
While the basic tenets/rules of Disc Golf will be followed, this will be a casual and laid back event.
We'll be playing a "safari" style layout featuring existing tees and baskets combined with temporary tees and baskets.
Temp tees will be well marked and most baskets will be lit.
Players will receive Two discs in their Player's Packs.
These will be the only discs used during the round.
Player's Pack Discs:
-Axiom Hex Midrange Speed 5 | Glide 5 | Turn -1 | Fade 1
-Streamline Pilot Putter Speed 2 | Glide 5 | Turn 0 | Fade 1
Both discs are in Eclipse 2.0 plastic, one of the brightest and longest lasting glow plastics currently available.
All holes will be set up short to encourage aces, but still have enough distance to keep things interesting.
If you don't hit an ACE or Metal, the hole becomes a Par 2 and usual rules will apply.
You will throw both discs off the tee and if no aces or metal are hit, you will putt from your closest disc to determine your "par" score.
The Layout will be posted the week before the event.
The format will be a hybrid of Par 2 and Ace Race where the top three points earners will win a Prize Pack.
Points Structure:
ACE - 5 Points
Metal Hit - 3 Points
2 - 1 Point
3 - 0 Points
4 or More - Minus 1 Point
(Metal Hits include main basket and above. Lower pole/base do not count)
Players will be allowed to pick their own cards!
Max of 4 players per card, min of 3. Each card must have at least one UV light for the glow round.
Mando Mart will have lights for sale!
The Prize Packs include Lab 2nd discs in a variety of molds and plastics.
There is only one division, but there will be 3 spots paid out.
1st - 12 Discs
2nd - 9 Discs
3rd - 6 Discs
Even if you don't place in the top 3, there will be plenty of opportunities to win other prizes, discs, etc!
Ties will be decided by CTPs.
Players will need a LED/UV light to illuminate their discs.
It is essential the your discs are WELL LIT!
A regular flashlight will not be sufficient.
The Mando Mart will be on site starting at 4:00pm.
They will be selling discs and products from most disc companies.
More importantly, they will have UV flashlights for sale for a great price!!!
Even if you're not playing, feel free to come shop and support a local disc golf company!!!
You can purchase a Player's Pack even if you can't attend the event.
Just register like you'll be attending.
Registered players can purchase additional Player's Packs at a discounted price, but you must contact me first.
All cancellations will incur a $5 fee.
Refunds will be paid via the original payment method.
