MVP Space Race 2 @ Tall Firs Disc Golf Course | Benefiting Hopelink
About this tournament
This tournament will be run as a charity fundraiser and can drive to benefit Hopelink! "Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in King and Snohomish counties; providing stability and helping people gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good." You may know them from their food banks, but they do so much more in our community than that! Every last dollar we raise outside of the cash pots (see below) is going to support Hopelink and we are so excited to be working with them. MVP disc sports was a big fan of our vision and they have EXTREMELY generously offered to donate FIFTY, that's right, 50 Eclipse Nano mini disc golf markers to our tournament. So we are running a can drive! Bring 10 cans of food to donate during check-in, or a $15 cash donation (prepay during signup available) and receive a FREE mini marker in Eclipse 2.0 plastic! Support needy families in our community around the upcoming holiday season, and let's #glowthesport
This tournament will be run as a 2 (or 3) disc challenge using the players pack discs. The players pack includes a Streamline Pilot (putt and approach) and an Axiom Hex (mid-range), both in MVP's stunning, industry leading Eclipse 2.0 glow plastic. We also have an optional additional fundraiser fairway driver that you can add during signup. This disc is a Streamline Lift, also in Eclipse 2.0 plastic and it is the only other disc that will be permitted for use in this competition.
Start Time: 7pm shotgun start, check-in and basket lights will be up and available 6pm at the latest. Sign-up sheet to choose starting hole and cardmates will be at check-in table.
Layout: The layout will be 1-12 REDS X 2, for a total of 24 holes.
Prize Structure: We will have a variety of discs and other disc golf related prizes up for grabs, entirely donated by the community in order to support Hopelink! There will be multiple UV disc toasters up for grabs, we already have a handful of discs coming from MVP, and I have received word from multiple people that they will be donating some nice plastic, but we need more!
Cash Pots: For those that want to make things a little more interesting, we will have 4 cash pots, each as their own additional add-on. There is a $5 cash entry available for an Ace Pot, a Birdie Bash, Poker, and a CTP! More details on each of these can be found on the signup page.
MVP Glow Swag: Buy from the best in the business! To support our fundraising efforts, we have made a ton of glowing disc golf swag available for donation during signup! We have multiple UV flashlight options, and every color of MVP's famous tri-light LED lights for you to snag. Convert your favorite disc to a glow disc for use in the upcoming glow season!
Practice round: We will be running a casual open round with the layout and the lights the night before, November 17th at 7pm. This round will be completely open to the public, tournament registration or discs not required. I will have the players pack discs available for pickup that night as well, but be warned, if you lose your tourney disc during practice I won't have a replacement available for you.
I will also be catering dinner myself, available to all players with a suggested donation amount. I will be smoking a bunch of pulled pork to serve BBQ sandwiches!
