TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT: The city of Troy rented out the Pavilion for tomorrow all day to the Knights of Columbus. We don't really need the Pavilion to pass out players packages but parking is going to be a mess. Please carpool if possible. Registration begins at 11 am. PLAN ACCORDINGLY!

Proposed course layout:
Hole 1: 80'
Hole 2: 90'
Hole 3: 100'
Hole 4: 92'
Hole 5: 94'
Hole 6: 84'
Hole 7: 95'
Hole 8: 75'
Hole 9: 94'
With this layout, last year we had 46 Aces, 39 of them were in the Ace Pool.
I know we have a chance of rain but if it stays dry, I may add a twist to this years course.

It has been a long great weekend with disc golf and family so my apologies for the late recap.
First off, thank you to everyone who registered and played in the event.
Thank you to Discraft, Sherwood Brewery, Joe Levell, and Josh Swanson for the donations.
Thank you to Damon Evans, Chris Leo, Kevin Egnatoski, Brandon Dub, Samantha Gilbert, Jim Stack, Jon Trandell, Dwayne Kay for your assistance setting up and helping run the event. There were a coupe more who helped with the tent as well.. ... more

Thank you Josh Schulte for bringing the 2 baskets we needed to complete our Ace Race course.
Thank you Jamie Amatucci for driving all the way out here and making sure our players packages were complete for everyone.
We had 150 packages purchased with only a few left over. We played in 60% chance of rain weather with maybe 50 drops that fell during play so all-in-all, good weather. There were a total of 38 aces, 25 of which were in the $5 Ace Pool side bet. Each Ace paid out $17 each - well done. There were some good side games too:
Chris Laity won the Cryztal Zone I donated from this past summer's Great Lakes Open by guessing the closest to how many Ace Race packages we purchased.
I also donated a MDGO Cryztal Buzzz for the 1st Ace of the Day won by Mark J.
Jake Steinbrecher won the MCCG Cryztal Buzzz for hitting the last Ace of the Day
Paulie won the 1st Run DGA Pipeline for the most metal hits without an Ace donated by Joe Levell. 8 metal hits and no Ace!
Jim Schocke won a Z Undertaker donated by Discraft for finishing in 2nd Place. He actually tied for 1st so nice shooting Jim!
Nick Cookie won the nice Sherwood Brewery disc golf package for winning the Basket 7 Disc Hit game. Nice shot Nick!
Josh Swanson donated a nice Champion Wraith won by Kyle Hendrickson for being the youngest person to Ace at 17 years old and Tony Lange won a nice Champion Destroyer for being the oldest person to ace at the young age of 57. Thank you Josh and congratulations to Kyle and Tony.
Congratulations to Dave Milewski for being the 2016 MCCG Discraft Ace Race winner. Dave won the event by tying Jim Schocke and hitting the 1st throw during our famous Ace Race throw off on the Raintree Park Island. We have had to use this the past 2 years now as John Zane won the Ace Run Off in 2015. Dave calmly walked to the area by nailing a long practice throw on basket 6 then moments later stepped up and nailed the 1st shot. This was captured on video by Chris Tessmer, nice going Chris!. When Jim Schocke missed the follow up throw, Dave become the 2016 MCCG Discraft Ace Race Champion. Dave wins the exclusive Ace Race winner Buzzz, a new Discraft bag with about 8 or so new Discraft discs, and the Chainstar basket. Nice going Dave.

Here is a new game for you all to play and can win a disc at the Ace Race. FYI - if you are not planning on playing in it, you will not win so there is no reason to guess. How many packages will we purchase this Thursday for this years' event? Go!
