About this tournament

The Lubbock Windriders will be hosting their 11th ever Ice Bowl at Mae Simmons Park on Sunday, January 26. This is a fundraiser event supporting the South Plains Food Bank.

The Goal: Have fun and help support a good cause. The first Disc Golf Ice Bowl was held in Columbia, Missouri in 1987. It was subsequently promoted as a day of disc golf solidarity in the gloom of winter by Disc Golf Hall of Fame member Rick Rothstein. Official Ice Bowls are played at courses all over the United States and Canada, as well as Europe. Each event finds a charity to support, ideally to fight hunger. Since 1996, there have been close to 4,300 Ice Bowl events that have raised over $4.2 million. The overall charitable fundraising goal for 2019 is $375,00 worldwide. The motto of the Ice Bowl is "No Wimps, No Whiners".

There will be two rounds of random draw doubles; all player skill levels are encouraged to join the fun! There will be a cash payout.

There will be CTPs during each round.

Lunch (a hearty bowl of chili) will be provided.

Mulligans can be purchased at the event (two cans of food or $2 each; maximum of three mulligans per round per person) and are encouraged.

Ice Bowl Discs and T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event. Ice Bowl discs and T-shirts are also offered with online registration at discounted prices.
