DeFunk Disco, Inc. is proud to give you the second annual 2020 LAKEYARD LAUNCH 2.0!
Are you ready to get FUNKY again at Lake Defuniak? DeFunk Disco, Inc. has partnered once more with the City of Defuniak Springs, FL to design a 6000'+ temporary course around Lake Defuniak. This 18-hole singles tournament will incorporate multiple holes over 600’ while circling the picturesque property around the lake:
Tournament Information:
- March 14, 2020
- 200 player cap
- Flex start between 8am and 3pm
- Maximum 5 players per card / Minimum 3 players per card
- Player check-in at the Amphitheater on Circle Drive, just west of the First Presbyterian Church located at 1063 Circle Drive, Defuniak Springs, FL 32435
- Course closes at 5pm. Last available tee time is 3pm.
- Award Ceremony at 5:30pm
- Cost per player (except Open / Junior Divisions) is $30 if registered on discgolfscene.com / $35 day of tournament
- Cost per player for Junior Divisions is $25 if registered on discgolfscene.com / $30 day of tournament
- Cost per player for Open Divisions is $40 if registered on discgolfscene.com / $45 day of tournament
- Player’s pack will include a Trilogy disc (several molds/colors/plastics) and tee shirt (must register online before March 1, 2020 to guarantee shirt size)
- Additional rounds of 18 holes can be purchased for $10 online / $15 in person to better your score. Your best score turned in for the day will count toward awards and payouts (only one score will count if multiple rounds played). Maximum 3 rounds.
- The 1st Place winners in each division will receive trophies
- Blended payouts will be awarded to the top finishers, one payout for every three people registered in each division up to 5th place (example: if 20 people register for MA1, 1-5th place will receive blended payout. If 6 people register for FA1, 1-2nd place will receive blended payout. If three people register for MA1, 1st place will receive blended payout).
- Open divisions will have all-cash payouts (money in, money out minus $25 player's pack)
- Junior and Novice Divisions trophy only
- No new divisions will be added if you register the day of the tournament. Whichever divisions are empty when online registration closes will remain empty on tournament day due to the super-FUNKY Electronic scoreboard! You will have to register the day of in the closest division to your skill level/age.
-$5 Ace Pot (collected day of tournament)
- Prize for best 2-round score
- Prize for best 3-round score (IRONMAN!)
- There is a strict NO ALCOHOL policy within Chipley Park. Anyone caught violating this policy will be asked to leave the park and will be disqualified from the tournament without a refund
- The course will be set up by 4:00pm on Friday, March 13 for FREE practice rounds! Sunset is 7:16pm. If for some reason a player cannot make the main event on Saturday, March 14, we will allow them to play their official round Friday night as long as they card with a minimum of 3 people and play by standard official tournament rules. Maximum one official round Friday night. Must tee off before 5pm on Friday night if playing an official round.
Ladies and gentlemen, this tournament is very important to disc golf in Northwest Florida. One of the main missions of DeFunk Disco, Inc. is to grow this spot of disc golf. If we can show that our sport is continually growing and beat our attendance of 84 people last year, we will forward these numbers to the City of Defuniak Springs in hopes of creating a permanent course around Lake Defuniak!
