Is there a way to register for this tournament without purchasing the "optional" watermelon disc? It seems there is only one option during registration that requires me to select adding this disc to my registration

Seconded on this. Dropdown field 'Proton Pitch Watermelon Disc' requires an option selected and only has the one option to purchase available in the picklist.

Is it play with only player pack discs? What lay-outs do the different divisons play?

All players must use the discs provided and everyone will be playing the same layout which is yet undecided, but most likely short to long

Yes, They will be available at the event as well as during registration
Best place to get a tag is at Wednesday handicaps at Lincoln or one of the travelling Saturday handicaps. If you're on Facebook, join the club page and message the TD for an upcoming event to make sure they set aside a tag for you, if possible. The players party in January is when all of the new tags go out but the club orders extras for people who join during the year. Hope that helps.
