LVDG Summer Series: Swatara Soiree
About this tournament
The Swatara Soiree is the 3rd installation of the LVDG Summer Series. This tournament is a PDGA C-Tier singles event that consists of 2 rounds. The first round will play all long tee pads which are grueling and unforgiving. The second round will play the short tee pads, which has a lot of ace runs.
Before I get into anything else, I must adamantly state that Camp Swatara is a course on private property and to play in the tournament, you must abide by their rules or you could be subject to disqualification. There is to be no smoking, drinking, cursing, or drug use while on camp premises. Also, you must abide by the 5 MPH speed limit while driving through the camp to protect yourselves, fellow disc golfers, and the camp's other visitors.
All pro fields will be playing cash and the top 40% of each division will be paid out. Entry fee for all open fields is $50.
I have added an incentive to MA1 (Advanced) players to this tournament. Entry fee is $45, but this will also add to the total payout in your division.
The rest of the Am field will pay $40 for entry. The top 45% of every am field will be paid out with vouchers to the LVDG Flymart which will be on location for the day.
The junior division, MJ18, will have entry fee of $25 and will not receive a payout because of the smaller entry fee.
All players in amateur divisions will receive a player's pack of a Innova Summer Series stamped disc and a LVDG water bottle. First place in each division will win a special trophy!!
Lunch options will be available near the check-in canopy during the event. There will be a ham/turkey sandwich, chips/corn chips, apple/orange, cookies, and different drinks. Also, if you would like an option of something else, a shuttle service will be taking players to the East Hall where they will have a choice of different hot food menu items and I believe ice cream. Please bring cash for the lunch items!!
Parking is the biggest issue at Camp Swatara. If you sign up with a buddy, please consider carpooling to the tournament. There is only so much parking available near check-in. We can line up a couple rows along the check-in area and around the fence at the miniature golf course. However, any overflow will have to park down at the East Hall where the extra food options are available. If this parking area is used, the camp's shuttle service will make sure you get transported to the course in good time as well as back to your vehicle at lunch time if need be.
Each round will also have a CTP and an Ace pot option is available during sign up. A hole sponsor option will also be available at sign up for $10. Each sponsor will have a laminated sign hung up at a tee sign and all proceeds will go towards improving the Swatara disc golf course.
