I'm overjoyed to present JCDC's First Annual Give a Flick Charity Disc Golf Open!
This tournament will help people with disabilities by encouraging the community to participate in physical activity, utilize local recreational resources, and promote a growing sport involving a diverse group of participants.
This XC-Tier PDGA sanctioned tournament on October 7th, 2017 is more than a charity event. Our goal is to promote the local disc golf course by welcoming a diverse group of disc golfers to experience the recent additions at Cedar Lakes.
IT WILL BE A 24 HOLE COURSE!!
All players will play two rounds of 24 holes.
Open / Advanced will play 1 round from short tees and 1 from long tees.
All other divisions and Grand Masters will play 2 rounds from short tees.
$10 non-PDGA fee has been waived for this charity event.
Concession will be available. Please, bring cash.
Breakfast: Fruit / Muffins
Lunch: Hot Dogs / Pork BBQ / Chips / Drinks
Water stations will be provided every so many holes for $1.
Classic end-of-tournament competitions will be hosted for all players including:
CTP
$100 shot
Putting Challenge
Awards Ceremony after all scores are tallied.
In addition to the XC-Tier tournament, JCDC is hosting a follow-up event on October 8th including interested community partners, citizens, as well as the local Special Olympics.
This will be an introduction to Disc Golf for the Special Olympics athletes in WV.
We are taking 24 Special Olympic athletes on a 6 hole disc golf adventure / demonstration. Discs with be provided , prizes will be given and a whole lot of fun!!
We are encouraging experienced disc golfers from the tournament on the 7th to stay and share their skills. Help us teach the community and Special Olympic athletes about disc golf and how they can benefit from the sport.
