About this tournament
– Welcome –
Welcome to the tournament registration page for Indy Disc Golf Club’s (IDGC) 37th Annual Ice Bowl, to be held Sunday, February 2nd at the beautiful Brookside Park disc golf course. Ice Bowl is the final stop on IDGC’s annual charity event series. Last year, we raised $4,375 for the St. Vincent de Paul food bank, located just down the road from Hole #6’s tee pad at Washington Park. We strongly believe that disc golf is equal parts sport and community, and, with your help this year, we will continue the tradition of being a positive impact within the greater Indianapolis community – over $45K donated to fight food insecurity since 2003!
– History–
This is the second longest continuously run Ice Bowl event in the country behind the founding cities of Columbia & Kansas City, MO. The original Ice Bowl motto was "No Wimps, No Excuses.” When Jerry Suiter & the IDGC held the first few Indy Ice Bowl events beginning in 1989, they heard some excuses from the folks who didn't show up and a LOT of whining from some of the folks who did. So, they revised it: "No Wimps, No Whiners.” Rick Rothstein, founder of the Ice Bowl events, liked it so much that he changed the official Ice Bowl slogan to match what they were saying in Indy.
In 1995, the IDGC began using the event to raise money and collect food for the Dayspring Center, whose mission is to “help homeless families find their way home.” Again, Rothstein liked what the Indy Club was doing so much that, in 1996, fundraising to fight food insecurity became a central component of the Ice Bowl. Since then, millions of dollars have been raised for food banks nationwide thanks to the Ice Bowl mission and to all who participate each year as organizers and players.

– Layouts –
PRO: 24 Hole Long Layout: https://udisc.com/courses/brookside-park-disc-golf-course-P1Io/layouts?selectedLayoutId=116678
AM: 26 Hole Short Layout: https://udisc.com/courses/brookside-park-disc-golf-course-P1Io/layouts?selectedLayoutId=119502
– Optional Add-ons –
• Mulligan (x2) charity package: $5 per player – all proceeds to SVdP food bank.
With the Mulligan charity package, players receive two total mulligans: a tee shot Mulligan (for any throw off the tee) and a non-tee shot Mulligan (for any putt/approach). A player may use a Mulligan after any throw attempt to re-throw from that lie without incurring a penalty stroke. When a player elects to use a Mulligan, the previous throw is considered abandoned and replaced by the resulting lie of the re-throw. Scoring a hole-in-one with a Mulligan throw counts on the scorecard but not for the Ace pool.
• 50/50 CTP + Ace side contest package: $5 per player – $3 to 50/50 CTP and $2 to Ace Pool.
If no Ace is hit in standard play, a CTP contest will be used to award the Ace pool.
– Refunds –
When a refund is requested, Indy Disc Golf Club general policy is to refund 100% of registration fees collected – no handling fees, no partial refunds, no deadline prior to the event to request a refund. However, since Ice Bowl is a charity fundraiser, Indy Disc Golf Club will refund all with the exception of the $10/player food bank donation portion of the entry fee.
