About this tournament
The year is 1986. In a small town in the upper Midwest a gang of kids known as the teebirds run shit at the local disc golf course. Their leader Chaz Destroyer has the baddest backhand in town. With his sidekicks, chain drain and trick shot by his side they don’t take kindly to outsiders. The teebirds have never lost a tournament dominating in every division. Though their methods are often controversial and even suspect in legality, they continue to reign and celebrate their victories every Saturday night listening to Def Leppard’s Pyromania next to bonfires with the FPO syndicate the cheetahs . Brad Chance is new in town and takes a liking to Chaz sister and head of the Cheatahs , Brandy. He has brought with him a nasty flip up forehand the likes of which no one has ever seen. He putts with ferocity with his Walkman headphones on jamming out to the smiths and the cure. He talks of “the flow” as some mystical state of conciousness that he only reaches through new wave immersion and thinking about Brandy. The stage is set, the teebirds are plotting ways to maintain dominance on the course , while Brad tries to find his place in a new town and shake things up. Cue the music it’s gonna be a showdown at the big springs break tournament and only one thing is certain … this town will never be the same.
