About this tournament
Houston Disc Golf is proud to present the HDG Juniors Showdown at Zube! This will be a JUNIORS ONLY PDGA C-tier event at Zube Park in Hockley, TX. This event is open to ALL JUNIORS FOR FREE!!! That's right, HDG is bringing more disc golf to these talented kids at no cost to the players at all! We welcome all competitors whether you are experienced with sanctioned play or this is your first time attending a PDGA tournament!
This event features:
-2 rounds of 18-holes for all divisions
-An amazing player's pack for every player
-Trophies for top finishers in all divisions
-A tournament environment and layouts catered just for juniors
-Free CTPs for both pools
-Free Acepot for all players
-Free lunch between rounds provided Joe Black
-And again, FREE ENTRY FOR ALL COMPETITORS
There will be two pools for this event. Each pool will play a modified 18-hole layout designed to accommodate all skill levels. Layouts will be posted on UDisc no later than 2 weeks before the event. Caddy books will be emailed to all players (or parents) at roughly the same time.
Event will be capped at 50 players.
A-pool: MJ18, FJ18, MJ15, FJ15, MJ12
B-pool: FJ12, MJ10, FJ10, MJ08, FJ08, MJ06
Players should register for the division for the age they turn this year, even if that day is after the tournament. Players are always allowed to play up to other age divisions, this is recommended for any B-pool players who feel the A-pool layout is better suited to their skill level. Any questions on registration or divisions should be directed to Torrin Tompkins at [email redacted].
Round 1 will begin at 9:00 am.
Round 2 will begin 1 hour after the last card is finished with round 1.
Awards ceremony will begin immediately after the end of Round 2 at the course.
Player Packs will be available on location until the conclusion of Awards.
Hole assignments for Round 1 will be posted on the PDGA event page no later than Friday Oct. 7th.
We will also share the event page to the HDG and HDG Young Guns Facebook groups.
There will be no official in-person check-in. Check-in will happen automatically through the PDGA live scorecard.
This is a sanctioned tournament but we still want to foster a learning environment. If you are PDGA Rules Certified and would like to Volunteer please reach out to Ben Evans. We would like to have several officials throughout the course to assist the juniors with any ruling decisions as they are still learning many of the specifics of tournament play and PDGA Rules.
