About this tournament
Beat the holiday blues by winning some cash! Put your skills to the test at Niagara-on-the-Lake's Rotary Ace Place! The Holiday Buster Bonanza is the inaugural event for this beautiful course. A huge thank you to the Parks & Recreation department as well as the city clerk's office and staff at Niagara-on-the-Lake's town hall for making this event possible, and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Club for installing this course.
There are only 2 categories for this tournament, "pro" and "am". This event is not PDGA sanctioned and thereby, you do not need to enter your PDGA number or have a valid PDGA membership to compete. Your tournament team includes a certified PDGA official and a skilled veteran of the sport.
The cost of the Holiday Buster Bonanza is $11 for pro and $6 for am, per round of 9 holes. The 9 holes total 1485 feet, with baskets of varying distances from 107 feet to 214 feet. $1 from each round, per player, will be used to cover event insurance, permits, prizes, and light snacks. There is a washroom and café on site as well as discs for borrow at the community centre. The course is located at 14 Anderson Lane NOTL, and there is ample free parking on site.
Each card of 4 will have an estimated 45 minutes to complete the course. Tee times are available at 11:00, 11:45, 12:30, 1:15, 2:00, 2:45, and the final tee time at 3:30. Each tee time can accommodate 36 players. Should you register as an individual, pair, or group of 3, additional players may be added to your card for play. The more competitors, the more cash in the pot! If you would like to play multiple rounds, your lowest scores will be removed and the highest will count toward the prizes. Note, that each round requires additional payment, registration and selection of tee time. You may choose to play rounds back-to-back, or have a break in-between.
This event will have a custom score card to be picked up at the registration table when you arrive for your tee time. 20 points will be awarded for each ace, 10 points for hitting the basket (cage, chains, pole, rim or top), 5 points for landing within circle 1 (10 meters) and 1 point for landing within circle 2 (20 meters). An additional point is also scored if you finish the hole under par. Obviously, an ace is under par and also scores this additional point. A third throw is not needed to end or finish a hole if no additional points can be scored. Measurement devices will be available at each hole to ensure for fast play. Examples and detailed scoring instructions are printed on each score card. Please text or phone Andréa (905) 328-8515 for any scoring or rules questions. The highest score in each division will earn the cash purse! There are also additional side games available (entry is included in your registration) for disc and gift prizes. A short awards ceremony will be held at approximately 4:30.
Please note, that although every effort has been made to avoid event backups, this course will be open to the public and walk-on golfers during this event. Please respect the 3-minute rule to locate any lost discs.
