Heritage Classic Disc Golf Event and Watch Party

IMPORTANT: We were told the Player Pack discs would be exclusive to this event, but unfortunately that is no longer the case. You can now purchase these discs at Gander and do not need to be registered in this event to access them. They will still be in the Player Pack (they'll cost you less than retail). If this event doesn't reach 20 registrants, it will not run

We've been asked to help kick off the new partnership between the NHL and Prodigy Discs. We are proud to host the Heritage Classic Disc Golf Event and Watch Party this Sunday, October 29. Play some disc golf with friends, watch some hockey with friends, and win some incredible prizes: including a grand prize of two tickets to any Oilers game this season! Did we mention every player gets two NHL discs?!
There are two parts to this event. When you register, you can either sign up for just the Disc Golf Event, or you can select the option to join the Watch Party too. There is no option to only come to the Watch Party at this point.
Part 1: Disc Golf Event at Norwester Park
$45 per player - includes 2 discs worth over $50!
You do not have to be a PDGA member to play - this event is for all skill levels and ages. 18 holes will be played.
This event says 'Singles event,' but that is only to allow for people to register on their own if they don't have a partner lined up. This is a doubles event.
Register on your own: you can either show up with someone else who registered and play together, or we'll pair you up with someone when you arrive.
The format is best shot doubles: this means you and your partner both throw every shot, but you get to use the better of the two throws every time. It is also a flex-start: arrive and tee off some time between 1:00 - 2:00 PM (this leaves enough time to finish before the Watch Party if you're coming).
Every player gets a Player Pack, which is two discs:
- 500 Spectrum Edmonton Oilers PA-5 with Heritage Classic bottom stamp
- 500 Spectrum Calgary Flames PA-5 with Heritage Classic bottom stamp
Sign in and collect your Player Pack at Hole 1 at Norwester between 1:00 and 2:00 PM. You may be asked to tee off on a different hole to make sure the course doesn't back up.
When you sign in, your doubles team will be asked to indicate if you are Team Oilers or Team Flames. If you choose Team Oilers, your doubles score will be tallied with the rest of Team Oilers and an average will be taken. The same will be applied to all doubles pairs who choose Team Flames. If Team Oilers has a better average score, every individual who was on that team will get an extra entry into the draw for two Oilers tickets. If Team Flames has the better average, everyone on that team gets an extra entry. Keep in mind you need to be at the Watch Party to win the Oilers tickets.
You will score your round on UDisc.
Part 2: Watch Party
$20 per person
To sign up for the watch party (required to win Oilers tickets) select the Watch Party option during registration. Cost includes pizza and (non-alcoholic) drinks.
Doors at Gander will open at 4:00 PM and there will be multiple viewing areas around the store! The game starts at 5:00 PM and pizza will be ordered for around 6:00 PM. Dietary restrictions and allergies will be taken into account.
While you're watching the game, there's some fun stuff happening and other ways to earn extra entries into the draw prizes, including the Oilers tickets:
- Wear Oilers or Flames gear during Watch Party to earn an extra entry into the prize draw
- Putting contest will be held during first and second intermission of the Heritage Classic: winners will earn extra entries into the prize draw
- Spend $20 or more to earn an extra entry into the prize draw. The entire store will be 10% off for everyone in attendance.
Prizes, including the grand prize, will be drawn as soon as the game ends. Winners must be present to collect their prize. Whoever wins the two Oilers tickets gets to select any game they want to attend!
Gander will close immediately following the prize draw.
