About this tournament
2 rounds of play
This is the first 18-hole Safari Course at Jack Mattox. We will play 2 rounds of 18 holes around the entire Jack Mattox Recreational Complex, including the ball fields. This IS Not the 22-Hole Adventure Course that we often play for tournaments.
This is a non-PDGA sanctioned tournament and is for all amateur disc golfers; men, women and older juniors. We want to get out of the house and onto the disc golf course to shake off those mid-winter blues and prepare for the 2025 disc golf season. We play rain or shine (hopefully, shine).
Each year, for the last 4, we host the Honoring the Sacrifice (HTS) Charity Disc Golf Tournament. The expenses don't go down, so what we are doing is setting aside a portion of the proceeds of this tournament to help defray future expenses that we incur running the (HTS) tournament.
This tournament will have a merchandise payout redeemable with ShopTom who will be on-site at the tournament. Approximately $8 per player will be added to payout.
1-4 players in a division: 1st place payout
5-10 players in a division: 1st and 2nd place payout
11 or more players in a division: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place payout
Player Pack:
1 Hot Hands package
Tournament T-Shirt (only players who register by 17 February are guaranteed a t-shirt)
Ace Pot: $5 buy-in. If there is no ace, the ace pot will go to the HTS fund. Multiple ace hits, the ace pot will be divided equally.
CTPs: All divisions will have 1 CTP (a new MVP disc), all players are in the CTP pool.at no cost.
Scoring: All cards will have 2 paper score cards. 1 score card must be turned in immediately after the completion of the round. The other card is a backup. Scores must be added up before turning in the card. We will verify the scores. Incorrect scores will incur a 2-stroke penalty to the card.
We should have the layout with distance, par and OB information on UDisc. If this happens, one player per card should keep score on UDisc which will serve as a backup.
Tournament Director for this tournament is Bruce MacDonald. Phone: 423-645-7303
