Welcome to the first ever Greenridge DGC Ace Race Fundraiser! I saw some cool ace race ideas online and figured why not try it at the Ridge to pay some people and raise some money.
Rules:
The goal of this ace race will be to capture an elusive ace on film! Each block (date range) will have a corresponding hole at Greenridge Disc Golf Course, with block 1 taking place at hole 1 and block 2 taking place at hole 14. Aces can be completed during a scored round, casual round or just throwing discs at the basket until you are exhausted. Both holes are 300' or less and are easily accessible from parking lots/side streets.
Aces MUST be filmed and timestamped with the player clearly being shown starting at the tee pad and the disc entering and staying in the basket. (although any disc that would be scored as a completed hole per PDGA guidelines will count ie. wedged/hanging.) Timestamping in some way is required to confirm that it did in fact happen during the correct two week period. Video evidence should be posted publicly to the DDG Facebook page or given to me so I can post on the page if you are not on Facebook.
You can only ace once per block. Once you hit your ace, you are guaranteed in the money.
Each block will cost $10 to enter and you can choose to enter 1 block or both, but regardless what you choose you must register before July 1. (You cannot enter into block 2 at the end of block 1 if you see nobody has hit an ace.)
Payouts:
Block 1: 2/3 of the collected fees will be paid out and 1/3 will be donated to the course ie if 30 people enter, $200 will be paid out, $100 will be donated to the course. If no aces are hit 50% of block 1 fees will be added to the block 2 pot and 50% will go to the course. ie 30 people enter, $150 carries over, $150 to the course.
Block 2: 2/3 of the collected fees will be paid out and 1/3 will be donated to the course. If no aces are hit 50% will be carried over to the next fundraiser event, 50% will go to the course.
Hole 14’s rough and surrounding areas will be sufficiently cleaned and mowed prior to starting to minimize the risk of lost discs.
Block 1- Hole 1
Week 1: July 1- July 15th
Block 2 Hole 14
Week 3: July 16th- July 31st less
