Get ready for an exciting day at the Gravitational Throwdown at the historic Tom Triplett Park! This event kicks off the DiscOver912 Series, a celebration of the best disc golf courses in the Savannah area.
Grab a partner and join us for a two-round unsanctioned team event—whether you’re a seasoned player or just getting started, it’s all about fun and friendly competition. Plus, it’s a great chance to support the local disc golf community as this event also serves as a fundraiser for growing the sport in the area.
Hosted by the Savannah Disc Golf Association, the Gravitational Throwdown is set to be a day full of good vibes and community spirit. Don’t miss out on being part of something special!
Event Overview:
Format:
- Round 1: Singles (9:00 am shotgun start)
- Round 2: Doubles (estimated 1:00 pm start)
- The total scores from both rounds will determine the winning team.
Financials:
- $300 green fees (split among teams)
- $10 per team fundraiser supporting the SDGA, community material items and/or course improvements
Payouts:
- Top 2 teams in each division will receive a cash payout.
- 2nd place: Team gets their money back (minus green fees & fundraiser).
- 1st place: Payout will be determined by the number of teams in the division.
Divisions & Tees:
Theres 3 divisions for this event as listed below:
A - 900+ rated use this division
B - 800-900 rated use this division
C - Below 800 rated use this division
-Teams are placed in ratings-based divisions according to the highest-rated teammate.
Unrated players will automatically be placed in the top division.
Ace Pot:
- If the Ace Pot is not hit, it will roll over to the next leg of the series.
Refund Policy:
- 8+ days before the event: Full refund minus PayPal fees.
- 7 days or less: Full refund minus PayPal fees only if the spot is filled by someone on the waitlist. Otherwise, a 50% refund will be given.
