They opened it with 300 potential registrants this year; obviously they were planning for a big tourney. Right now, they have way less than last year, and I likewise think the 3 day is a big reason. I respect the attempt, but also think a 2 day would get them an extra 50+ folks.

I'm not the only person in my friend group who is currently registered, but may still drop out at a later date because of the 3 day format. I also hope it will revert back next year.

It’s one of the Damed if you do and damed if you don’t. We really want to try an push to get a larger tournament and the only way is go to three days as the last few years we have been over or close to 200 participants, and due to the time of year we are very limited with day light, so with this year we pushed to move to 3 days to accommodate but we also ended up being squished between the ever famous Falcons and Canadian Nationals this year, so that will pull a lot of potential players due to back to back to back weekends and days off. I think this is a step we need to take to really accommodate what we would like to accomplish in the next 5 years.

It wasn’t a bad idea to grow the event! Just like Cole said, very unfortunately it landed inbetween two other A-tiers in larger provinces… don’t worry guys! I’ll be there this year !!!

I think the 3 day attempt was wonderful. Gives people a chance to bring the family out and not make it ALL about disc golf. I think the 3 day attempt was wonderful. Gives people a chance to bring the family out and not make it ALL about disc golf. Like Cole said the biggest concern has always been the risk of throwing in the dark. If there is any chance of a thunder storm there is no way the MPOs/FPOs would be able to finish their second round on a 2 day event. This removed the risk and allows more people to be involved with volunteering which is something I look forward to doing.

I played last year and really enjoyed it, but coming from Edmonton makes the 3 day difficult to do. I would have made it again this year if it was a 2 day.

Hopefully the 25% decrease in player attendance is enough to get this tournament back to a 2 day.

The camping booking is open right now. You have to call the park office at 306-386-2212 to book manually as the center campground we are using is closed to the public at that time.

Yes! This will allow our players to have more free time to spend with friends & family throughout the weekend and as well let us accommodate more players
