Everyone - Here is the players meeting I emailed to everyone. Please read it. It's important!
Please remember to bring enough water that you have 2 full water bottles for each round. There will not be communal water stations on the course due to covid regulations.
Gazebo at the Hollow 2020 – Virtual Players Meeting
Alicia and I are excited to see you this weekend for Gazebo at the Hollow 2020 Sponsored by Dynamic Discs.
This is a PDGA Sanctioned event and as such all rules are in effect.
There are a couple PDGA rules I’d like to remind you of prior to the event:
• Players can’t have dogs with them on the course.
• Players can’t possess or use alcohol or drugs on the course at any time during their round.
There will be no in person players meeting. If you are not checked in (or in line to check in) by 8am, we will begin the process of replacing you with wait list players.
You must be at your starting hole and ready to start by 830am.
CTP’s and ace pool in the time of COVID
There are two CTP holes on the course, 2 and 15.
For each of the CTP holes, there will be a painted and flagged circle around the basket. If your tee shot lands in the circle, you qualify. If any part of your disc is touching the painted line, you qualify. If the line becomes obscured in places, use the groups best judgement. If the line has been obscured and it’s close… you qualify!
If you qualify, circle your score for that hole. That’s it, no flags to move, no communal paper to write on. We will take care of the rest.
• Hole 2 is the CTP for
everyone in the tournament. We have 3 custom wrap mini baskets, discs and other cool items to give away. We will randomly draw a winner from qualifiers during round 2 and post the winners so you can pick up your prize before you leave!
• Hole 15 is the CTP for 2 $75 Gazebo gift cards. This was an optional item during check in. Only players who selected this option during check in are eligible for this CTP. We will randomly draw the gift card winners after the completion of the event and send the electronic gift card to the winners via the email used for registration.
• Ace Pool! – If there are no aces, the ace pool will be settled by the hole 2 CTP. We will randomly draw names from qualifiers until we get someone who bought into the ace pool! The ace pool is $126
Don’t forget to circle your score on the paper score card to indicate you qualified for the CTP both rounds!
Covid reminders:
• Current PDGA guidelines for COVID discourages communal water stations on the course. There will not be communal water jugs. Saturday looks to be very hot and dry. We
strongly encourage you to bring two bottles of water for each round. We will have some bottled water at tournament central, but that will be the only place on the course where water is available.
• In order to minimize risk of exposure to Covid-19, we are allowing caddies
only for ladies divisions. No spectators will be allowed at the event.
• 6ft Social Distancing REQUIRED, if unable to maintain you MUST be wearing a mask. 1st notice is warning, 2nd is a 1 stroke Penalty, 3rd is Disqualification and submit report to PDGA. This falls under PDGA rules for Courtesy Violations
General reminders:
ROUND 1 starts at approximately 830am. You must be at your Starting hole and ready to go AT THAT TIME. There will not be a formal meeting prior to the beginning of the round. We will call the 2 minute warning at 828am and the start at 830am.
ROUND 2 Will start approximately 1 hour after final card is turned in and will be posted Here:
SCORECARDS: Everything we are doing is to minimize the quantity of people you are interacting and in contact with for the day. On the tee pad of your first hole you will find a Ziplock bag of scorecards: 1 Card is for Round 1 and 1 card is Round 2, they are labeled. You will be in the same group for both rounds. The first player listed on the card will keep the score on the paper scorecard FOR THE ENTIRE ROUND and the remaining 2-3 players on the card will rotate keeping score digitally. For Second Round the same thing will happen, but the player listed last on the card will keep the paper score card and the remaining players will rotate the digital scoring.
Digital Score card will go to PDGA.com/Scores the event password is ‘hollow’
*
DO NOT LOG IN UNTIL after 8:15am the day of the event*. Once in the digital scorecard you will enter your PDGA number or last name, it will automatically pull up your group and start you on the correct hole. You will enter scores for the ENTIRE card for approximately 5/4 holes. Once your turn is up Log Off on the upper bar and the next player will log in via the same method.
Once all scores are recorded for the round, the Digital scorekeeper will confirm his score and the remaining players can confirm their scores as well. They will be submitted electronically to the TD. Paper scorecards are to be turned in at the TD table in the bin provided. Please remain aware of distancing rules during this process. Only one player from each group is needed to turn paper scorecard in. Paper scorecards are only for technical issues and to keep fairness amongst all competitors. Round 2 will be the exact same cards, on the exact same Starting hole. Follow same protocol for round, except the order for round 2 is based on the results from round 1.
Post event:
Top finishers will receive payouts with the Gazebo Disc Golf. Gift certificates will be issued electronically and will not be available after round 2. You will be able to redeem your winnings on line or in person at any event after Gazebo at the Hollow.
